Let science keep working | Without our research, the silent lady killer will keep on killing! Ovarian cancer is also called the silent lady killer, and affects 1400 women every year. Of these women, half will have died after 5 years. Better treatment options are needed! The proposed budget cuts in science will have a disastrous impact on our research. Without our research, there will be no solutions for the problems society is facing. We must not let that happen! Stop the budget cuts in science! Bouquet Speculum to the World 🌎 Title: Advancing HPV and Cervical Cancer Screening in Nigeria: The Role of Bouquet Speculum Introduction: In the ongoing battle against HPV and cervical cancer in Nigeria, our team recognized the pivotal role of regular screening methods. To gauge women's preferences, we conducted a questionnaire and answer session among women of reproductive age in a marketplace. The focus was on their opinions regarding Bouquet Speculum compared to the currently available speculums for screening. Results: An overwhelming majority of participants favored Bouquet Speculum upon viewing images of the two speculums. They expressed confidence in its comfort and suitability for cervical insertion. Impact: The adoption of Bouquet Speculum is poised to revolutionize HPV and cervical cancer screening in Nigeria. Its launch scheduled for June heralds a significant step forward in combating these diseases. Unique Design Features of Bouquet Speculum: Ergonomic Handle: Designed for ease of use and comfortable grip during examinations. Adjustable Blades: Tailored to accommodate varying anatomical needs, ensuring a precise and gentle examination. Soft Silicone Material: Provides flexibility and reduces discomfort for patients. Enhanced Visualization: Incorporates innovative lens technology for clearer and more detailed examination results. Hygienic Packaging: Each speculum is individually packaged to maintain sterility and minimize the risk of contamination. Conclusion: With the integration of HPV vaccination and cervical cancer screening using Bouquet Speculum, Nigeria is poised to achieve significant strides towards eradicating both diseases. This comprehensive approach underscores the importance of innovative technologies in public health initiatives. Mark Owen Viospex Ade Elisha
So proud to share that RVUCOM Medical Student, Stacey Clark, presented a poster on "Evaluation of the Bouquet Speculum" at the SNMA Conference in New Orleans. The study, conducted in Karachi, Pakistan, aims to enhance cervical cancer screening in low-resource settings. Stacey's hard work has been recognized, and she has been invited to present her findings to the National Medical Association ( the largest and oldest organization representing African American physicians and their patients in the United States). Congratulations, Stacey, on this amazing achievement! #WomenInMedicine #CervicalCancerScreening #MedicalResearch #DiversityInMedicine
