! Do you know what is RIVs? European regions to become Regional Innovation Valleys (RIVs), to strengthen European innovation ecosystems connecting all EU territories, address Europe’s societal challenges and foster stronger cohesion. The Regional Innovation Valleys – which shall harness the potential of deep-tech innovation across the different EU territories and address the innovation divide – are a key initiative under Flagship 3 of the New European Innovation Agenda (NEIA). The aim is to identify 100 regions committed to better coordinating their research and innovation investments and policies and to collaborating on interregional innovation projects. The initiative builds on smart specialisation strategies across Europe and, where applicable, on participation in the PRI Pilot Action. And 🚀🚀🚀 the driving force of RIVs in LT is Jekaterina Kaliniene, EMBA - congratulations👏.

Reflecting on #MastermiNNd 2024: A Transformative Peer-Learning Journey⚡ “When meeting with Laurent-Dominique Piveteau and CEO CF in 2021 during one of their Summit, I knew this community had something special and that we should learn from them”, says Caroline Schwarz, co-lead of Scale-Up Vaud. Innovaud then embarked on an exciting journey to explore the concept of MastermiNNd, a structured methodology designed to help a leader solve a challenge thanks to trust, and impactful knowledge exchange from peers. "It was really unique to get the perspective of 8 other CEOs on a challenge I am currently facing" commented Andreas Schollin-Borg, co-founder and CEO of Batgroup. Building on their insights from working with CEO CF, Charlotte Ducrot Real de Azúa and Caroline Schwarz decided to adapt and implement their approach in a more intimate event format: a highly personalized session for the Club +100, a group of CEOs managing over 100 employees. Inspired by case winner. It is a real life example of why DE&I (not dead:) matters and how you can support “the movement” with what you already have. What MAK Did 1. Hosted Leadership Events MAK brought together leaders and experts to talk about how to give more people access to opportunities. Events like the MAK Leadership Forum and MAK X helped connect people who could make real change. 2. Launched Campaigns for Action They started initiatives like “#TakeAction” and the “CEO Commitment for DE&I” to get business leaders to commit to improving inclusion in their companies - leaders were expected to follow through. 3. Changed the Conversation MAK worked hard to show that DE&I isn’t just about fairness. it’s also good for business. When companies are more inclusive, they perform better and innovate more. Why It’s Cool MAK shows that DE&I isn’t just about being nice, it’s about building a better future. By including more voices, companies can make smarter decisions, solve bigger problems, and help communities thrive. This is how MAK turned an idea into real change, proving that diversity is powerful and profitable.

❌Closing part II. The art of collaboration and partnerships has been demonstrated by the VAGABOND ITN network with Jan Molenaar as coordinator and Celina Szanto and Linda Schild as projectleaders at Prinses Máxima Centrum voor Kinderoncologie. With 15 toptalents from 10 countries around the world and with 18 partners from 8 different countries the network mobilises a wide range of knowledge. All training elements and research projects contribute to the pre-clinical drug development pipeline. With the BeyondU personal development program we participated in the network to guide top talents towards confident and resilient next-generation leaders in the 21st-century. Role models who live, work and lead with head and heart. The visual report by Elisabeth van der Spek visualizes how the consortium worked together. It also shares the impact how the personal development plan boosted the collaboration between teams and between sectors with a bottom-up approach.
