🗿 What is a masterpiece? ⛱️ A 'masterpiece' is something different for everyone! Maybe 'masterpiece' to you means something that has a practical use above all, rather than artistic or historical value. Or maybe your masterpiece is not rare at all, but just something you find in countless living rooms. The Museum aan de Stroom in Antwerp is always inspirational! Currently, they show an exhibition where Antwerp residents chose their personal masterpieces. For 'Eyecatchers', 16 Antwerp residents went in search of their masterpieces in the MAS collection. Unique, important, unseen or pioneering? Or useful, fascinating, recognizable or endearing? Here I show one, which made me think…. 🔥 Intriguing lighters 🔥 'Human creativity has always fascinated me. Where do ideas come from? How much ingenuity and imagination is needed to make an idea real and tangible? We often don't think about that when we look at a utensil. New exhibition design by FACTORY! When does the past end and the present begin, and what exists in the in-between? The nature of time is often explored through the lens of both permanence and transience. How does the fluidity of memory, which is deeply subjective, shape the process of art-making? If there might be an aesthetic that expresses the complex relationship between loss, time, and solitude, how would it look like? What visual or conceptual elements would it involve? An Ode to Absence is an exhibition that explores these questions. By considering the notions of “lack” and “longing,” the exhibition delves into how these themes can articulate the nuances of temporal experience and the conceptual weight of absence. Featuring works drawn from private art collections, An Ode to Absence is an exercise of a curatorial methodology that seeks to create connections between seemingly disparate pieces to reveal underlying themes that might otherwise remain obscured. Through this process, the curatorial approach transforms individual pieces into a narrative that invites viewers to contemplate the time as an interplay between presence and absence, and the dimensions of the ephemeral and the enduring. FADA Gallery invites you to the exhibition titled,  IN/VISIBLE The 2024 Creative Output exhibition “In/Visible” offers a useful register with which to engage an array of current works by staff of the Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture (FADA). It’s generally taken for granted that the production, appreciation and dissemination of art – via channels such as books, galleries, museums and the internet – is primarily predicated on notions of the visible, the visual and the tangible. There’s nothing wrong with this assumption. Indeed, without multiplicities of visuality, the world of art would stand to lose a great deal. As important as the visible may be, the invisible is a critical and easily overlooked layer for the thinking and making of art and its attendant provocations.  

🏺History told in a different way: For the reopening of the Museum Schloss Fürstenberg, GROSSE8 created a video mapping on six porcelain vases. The aesthetic projections take you on a journey through the rich story of porcelain decoration - from landscape painting to modern abstraction. 🎥 Animated films are precisely projected onto the vases. As we are getting more enquiries about the 48V track system, we thought we share some knowledge with you to help you specify confidently. Here are the 3 most important things you need to know why a low voltage lighting system might be good for your project: - The track is a lot slimmer than the traditional track system, making it look extra slick - It produces a lot less heat, so it is great for museums, art galleries and places with precious art - It can take emergency lighting module, too The 48V track can co-exist with a normal LED installation, so you can have just a section in your project, or the entire project can be low voltage.
