Remember the four steps to keep food safe and protect your loved ones from foodborne illnesses: • Clean - Regularly wash hands, kitchen surfaces, and food produce thoroughly to prevent the spread of bacteria that cause foodborne illnesses. • Separate - Avoid cross-contamination by using separate cutting boards and plates for raw meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs. • Cook - Cook food to the proper temperature to ensure harmful bacteria are eliminated. •Chill - Refrigerate food promptly, and never leave perishables at room temperature for too long.
