Adoption of hyperscale LLMs is NOT equal to cloud adoption. If you're saying things like, "people used to be nervous about putting their data in the cloud but they got over it - it'll be the same with LLMs" then you're making a classic category error. We explain it further in the article below. https://lnkd.in/eDUw5gkn Key points: 🍰 Cloud encryption happens at the infrastructure layer, LLMs at the application layer. These are very different propositions. 🔦 Hyperscale LLM providers will receive both prompts and retrieved chunks in plain text 🔎 The mechanisms inside those LLMs are currently "black boxes" making demonstrating security hard - even if it is genuinely robust 🥇 Start your GenAI journey from the end point - how will I demonstrate security, trust and control?

According to a recent study by Thales Inc, cloud security is facing new challenges due to the rapid adoption of AI and multicloud strategies. The study reveals that cloud-based assets, including SaaS applications, storage, and management infrastructure, are now the most frequent targets for cyberattacks. The increasing adoption of AI and ML technologies has led to a dramatic surge in cloud data storage. The Mother of All Breaches (MOAB), a massive data leak discovered in 2024, serves as an indicator of the massive amounts of sensitive data stored in the cloud. Organizations are employing multiple cloud service providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud to cater to the vast data requirements. While this approach offers options and risk distribution, it also brings complexity to cloud security. Over a third of organizations say they want to prioritize cloud security in their enterprise security budgets. However, only 13% of the respondents were categorized as cybernetically mature, having implemented at least four of the five resilience indicators. The MOAB data leak is a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities in cloud security and the need to encrypt data. Despite the challenges, the adoption of encryption lags. This article underscores the urgent need for robust cloud security measures in the face of growing AI integration and multicloud use. #cloudsecurity #AI #multicloud

Great summary here of the paralells between the rush to the #cloud a decade ago and the wave of #GenAI adoption we’re seeing today. There are some unsurprising statistics about how executives have been thinking about securing GenAI systems. In short, they haven’t! Much like with the cloud, the hunger for value creation through #innovation outweighs and overrides concerns about downside #risk. It doesn’t have to be this way. We’ve learned a lot in the last decade about how to “shift left” and build #security in to cloud applications while supporting and supercharging innovation and holistically addressing risks to confidentiality, integrity, availability and privacy. We’ve also learned these modern, risk based approaches to cloud security are critical investments in capabilities necessary to build Customer #Trust: without them, your company is unable demonstrate sufficient capability or believability to be “trusted”. The next 12-24 months will be critical for cybersecurity experts and GenAI builders to collaborate and teach each what the other needs to know to build secure, trustworthy AI projects that add immense value for the world.
Businesses embraced cloud computing but often neglected security, leading to vulnerabilities. Now, as AI gains prominence, John Yeoh warns against repeating past mistakes. Securing AI requires integrating data control and authentication, mirroring past cloud security challenges. Leadership must prioritize AI security to avoid repeating history. #CSAI #AISafetyAlliance #BetterAISafeThanSorry https://lnkd.in/gpAprB_q

Autonomous security for cloud in AWS: Harnessing the power of AI for a secure future: As the digital world evolves, businesses increasingly rely on cloud solutions to store data, run operations and manage applications. However, with this growth comes the challenge of ensuring that cloud environments remain secure and compliant with ever-changing regulations. This is where the idea of autonomous security for cloud (ASC) comes into play. Security and compliance […] The post Autonomous security for cloud in AWS: Harnessing the power of AI for a secure future appeared first on Security Intelligence.

Great overview of trends from RSA… - Google’s security ecosystem is growing… - cloud specific exposure management and detection and response plays continue to develop… - XDR continues to fade away… SIEM remains complicated, but vendors are starting to polarise on detection OR data… (I think detection as code really is the next big thing) - zero trust is still important but .ai domains are the new-hotness (maybe we need a .zt tld?) - AI is useful for producing outputs but less so for inputs (signatures etc)

My Journey into AWS Cloud and the Future of Technology Over the past few months, I’ve delved into the world of cloud computing with Amazon Web Services (AWS) through ALX, and I’m now gearing up for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam. This experience has opened my eyes to the incredible possibilities that cloud computing offers. From cost-effective scalability to robust security, AWS is empowering businesses across industries to innovate and transform their operations. What excites me most about AWS are the emerging trends in cloud technology, such as serverless computing, artificial intelligence, and edge computing. These innovations are changing how businesses operate and shaping the future of technology. Whether it’s faster application development with AWS Lambda or smarter decision-making with AI services like Amazon SageMaker, the potential is truly vast. Security has been a standout aspect for me especially with services like AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) and multi-layered encryption, AWS ensures that data is protected, making it a trusted choice for businesses worldwide. In an era where cyber threats are rising, this focus on security is critical. As I continue my journey in cloud computing, I am eager to learn, grow, and contribute to the incredible innovations happening in this space. The future is in the cloud, and I’m thrilled to be part of it. #CloudComputing #AWS #LearningJourney #ALX
