From the Bureaucratic "Post and Telegraphen Verwaltung" to an International Logistics Player! Once again, it was an immense pleasure to work with leaders from the Österreichische Post AG subsidiaries in Turkey (Aras Kargo), Slovakia (Slovak Parcel Service), Croatia (Overseas Express), Slovenia (Express One) and Bosnia-Herzegovina (Express One BiH). I'm deeply impressed by their dedication and drive for excellence. As an organizational path and strategic change researcher at TU Wien Research Group Leadership and Strategy, it’s equally inspiring to witness how a 400+ year-old organization has modernized itself and transformed into an international logistics powerhouse. Back in the 1980s, when I worked as a student in what was then a state-owned enterprise, I could never have imagined that this organization would one day thrive in a competitive market. In the late 1990s, as a consultant, I had the privilege of supporting its transition from a state monopoly to a market-driven business. Today, collaborating with both national and international managers, I find great joy in reflecting on the remarkable evolution of this organization. The diversity is striking—from startups in Slovenia to large-scale enterprises in Turkey. A huge compliment to the leadership teams! This impressive growth is only possible thanks to their unwavering commitment and vision. It was also a great pleasure to work with these executives, combining the latest academic insights with their invaluable practical experience in a co-creation approach, that's what defines us as the TU Wien – Academy for Continuing Education. Just returned from an amazing trip to Guangzhou, China, where I visited the iconic Canton Tower 🏙️. Standing tall at 600 meters, it’s a symbol of modern engineering and innovation, constantly pushing boundaries. The experience got me thinking about how businesses can also reach new heights by embracing similar principles.
