Awesome opportunity IF you have a Bachelor's degree. There are hundreds and possibly thousands of greatly qualified and motivated candidates out here in the wild that will shy away from applying due to not having one. The successful retail world is often owned and run by people who have built a portfolio of success with no education, just experience. The MoCo may overlook the requirement for a properly experienced candidate lacking a Bachelor's degree but I believe they are limiting their applicant pool by marketing that requirement so broadly. Sadly, there are many companies and fields all over the world doing the same. Likely with great intentions and purposes. It's just an outdated hiring point of view, IMO. My advice? If you've got the experience and the track record to show for it and you want a career like this...APPLY! You may get overlooked, you may get an opportunity that gets your foot in the door, or you may even score your dream job. You'll never get the win if you don't get yourself on the track. 🖤⚡️⚡️

Olivia Smith Minor: International Human Sciences and Business Current Company: Jimmy Choo Job title: Sales Associate What from your days at Auburn has helped you the most? Time management I learned from being in leadership with Apparel Merchandising and Design Association and the The Fashion Event at Auburn University! Also, organization and confidence I developed throughout my 4 years at Auburn. What is your favorite thing you have learned at your company? I’ve learned your network and connections are so important. It is crucial to invest time into relationships so you will have people to lean on when you need it most and you can do the same in return. What has been the most challenging part of working at your current company? I’m lucky that have the support system I do including Auburn faculty and my fellow alumni! Life after college is what I expected but it’s more expensive and harder than I thought. People can be unpredictable and the superiors can be the problem. You will continue to grow and develop. So everyone is adapting and changing around you constantly including yourself. It’s important to find a workplace where you are truly valued and appreciated for your efforts and where you see an opportunity for growth. War Eagle!

Unfortunately, I was among the people affected by the recent restructuring at Macy's. Over my 12 years with the company I have had the chance to connect with some great people, which is definitely what I will miss the most. Although this chapter is closing, I'm looking forward to seeing what the next brings. If any of my LinkedIn connections know of a company looking for an experienced investigator, please let me know! #openforwork #investigations #lossprevention #assetprotection #jobsearch

Every now and then, we all need someone to bet on our potential... Luckily, I was given that chance back in 2010. I was doing my first role out of college as a field sales representative covering 6 Home Depot stores in Orlando, FL. Not the most glamorous stocking shelves, putting up literature, and selling in the aisles.... but it taught you about the brands, how Home Depot operates, and the end user which was crucial. I was proactive and befriended a local high-flyer in the company, Mike Heist, and built some rapport. When an opportunity for a promotion came up, I wasn't at the top of the list. But since I was bold networking within the company I got a shot. I had a 2 hour heads up and drove straight there with little time to prep. Ended up interviewing with Mike and another sales leader, Daniel Jonke (pictured above). Was definitely nervous, fumbled at times, but did a good enough job to get the offer. I feel pretty confident I wouldn't be where I'm at now if I wouldn't have gotten that first promotion at Milwaukee Tool/TTi. Appreciate Mike, Daniel, and the entire regional team that ended up hiring me to come on board. Came full circle recently when I reconnected with Daniel at an event 14 years later. The lesson here is you always will need someone to throw you a bone to really break out in your career, you need to be proactive with networking, and do hard things on purpose so your prepared when you get a shot! 💪🏼💪🏼 #mindset #sales #habits
