Delhi's air quality has deteriorated again, prompting the reimposition of GRAP-3 (Graded Response Action Plan) restrictions to combat severe pollution levels. Authorities have taken immediate measures, including a hybrid learning model for schools up to Class 5, allowing parents to choose between online and offline classes. Additional restrictions under GRAP-3 include ban on construction and demolition activities, enhanced checks on industrial emissions and vehicular pollution. The national capital continues to struggle with high pollution levels caused by vehicular emissions, industrial activity, and seasonal stubble burning. Delhi Imposes Emergency Measures as Pollution Hits Hazardous Levels Delhi’s air quality has deteriorated to its worst this season, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 481 on Monday, categorized as 'severe plus.' Certain areas reported AQI levels exceeding 500, severely impacting public health. In response, authorities have activated Stage-4 emergency measures under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). Key Restrictions: 1. Ban on Trucks: Entry of non-essential diesel trucks is prohibited, except for those carrying essential goods or operating on LNG, CNG, or BS-VI engines. 2. Vehicle Restrictions: Delhi-registered BS-IV or older diesel vehicles are banned unless involved in critical services. 3. Construction Halted: All construction and demolition activities, including major infrastructure projects, are suspended. 4. School Closures: Physical classes are suspended, except for grades 10 and 12. 5. Work-from-Home: Offices must operate at 50% capacity, encouraging remote work for the remainder of staff. Additionally, stubble burning in neighboring states, accounting for 38% of Delhi’s pollution, combined with adverse weather conditions such as low wind speeds and high humidity, has intensified the smog. Emissions from local vehicles and industries further exacerbate the air quality crisis. Moreover, prolonged exposure to the toxic air profoundly increases the risk of respiratory and cardiovascular illnesses. To mitigate the situation, authorities are considering stricter measures, including the odd-even vehicle rule, expanded business closures, and tighter mobility restrictions, if air quality fails to improve. . . . #DelhiPollution #AQICrisis #CleanAirNow #IndiaAirQuality #StopStubbleBurning

💥 Delhi is currently grappling with a severe air quality crisis, as the Air Quality Index (AQI) has reached 1,500, a staggering 60 times higher than the World Health Organization's recommended limit. This alarming spike in pollution has prompted authorities to close schools and suspend construction activities across the city. 💥 Key Developments Current and Recent AQI Levels: On November 18, the AQI peaked at 1,500, while on November 17, it was recorded at 1,081. The overall AQI for the national capital territory stands at 484, categorising it as 'severe plus'—the highest reading this year. 💥 School Closures: All schools have transitioned to online classes until further notice, with only Class 10 and 12 students permitted to attend physical classes. This measure aims to protect students from toxic air. 💥 Implementation of GRAP: The Delhi government has activated Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), which includes banning non-essential vehicles and construction activities to combat the worsening air quality. 💥 Context The drastic rise in pollution levels is largely attributed to agricultural stubble burning in neighbouring states and stagnant weather conditions that trap pollutants. The PM2.5 levels, which can penetrate deep into the lungs and cause serious health issues, are reported to be 39 times higher than WHO limits. Stay safe, Delhi! #DelhiAirQuality #PollutionCrisis #DelhiPollution #StubbleBurning

The biggest of the culprits are Citizens of India, they will fight amongst themselves for #god ( who if is GOD is all powerful ) but not for their #fundamental #rights. Our leader of the nation, does not care about the states he does not win in elections. The largest nation on Earth with the greatest talent pool and he couldn't find a solution for #airpollution #delhi is not only a state, it's the national capital, where all #federal government officers reside, yet it's suffering. Air travels across 4-5 states , so one small half state cannot solve a larger challenge but he rather blame and escape , because he is vindictive towards people, who do not vote for him. #Solutions: 1. Delhi should mandate a freeze on Buying of 4 wheelers and Only a replacement of #ev should be allowed 2. Two wheelers running on #petrol older than 10 years should be compulsorily scrapped or converted to Electric. National Capital Territory cannot wait for Charging points to be complete. Delhi government already supports #solar & #ev. It should be made mandatory now. 3. #Segregated Office timings; like 7-8, 8-9, 9-10 , 10-11 should be mandated. 50% of employees , who can do work on a computer , should only travel maybe once or twice a week. 4. #Industrial activity should continue after the pollution check. Old industrial areas relocated to say Bhiwadi / Greater Noida etc 5. #Electric #Buses on all routes mandated. 6. #Construction is unregulated. No rules are followed. Whole of India suffers from dust pollution but No government has ever taken any concrete action. Just piecemeal and knee jerk reactions by #bureaucrats , who live in a permanent state of temporariness.

Delhi's pollution turns severe, with AQI reaching to 457 levels, prompting the authorities to implement stringent measures under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) Stage 4. Key actions include: Vehicle Restrictions: Ban on diesel trucks entering the city, except those carrying essential goods. Construction Halt: Suspension of all non-essential construction and demolition activities to reduce dust emissions. School Closures: Transition of educational institutions to online classes to minimize exposure for students. Remote Work: Encouragement of work-from-home policies to decrease vehicular emissions. Dust Control: Deployment of water sprinkling with dust suppressants and mechanical sweeping to reduce road dust. These measures aim to mitigate the health risks associated with the current pollution levels. To protect ourselves during such periods, we can consider the following precautions: Stay Indoors: Limiting outdoor activities, to reduce exposure to polluted air. Keeping Greenery: Indoor Plants act as the best air purifiers in your home to reduce indoor pollution levels. Wear Masks: When going outside is unavoidable, wear masks that can filter out harmful particulate matter. Monitor Air Quality: This can help to plan your activities accordingly. Maintain Indoor Air Quality: Using exhaust fans in kitchens and bathrooms to ventilate indoor spaces effectively. Maintaining a Healthy Diet: Drinking plenty of water and incorporating a diet rich in antioxidants can support your immune system in combating against diseases. Medications: Ensuring to have basic medications readily available. Stay informed and proactive to safeguard health during such periods. #health #safety #pollution #delhi #linkedin
