All of my Illinois friends I hope you are ready 🗣 ! The passage of Illinois House Bill 5344 (HB 5344) represents a significant update to the Behavior Analyst Licensing Act. This bill, now awaiting the governor's signature, mandates several important changes that will impact service providers in the behavior analysis sector. I assumed by simply taking the bill at face value the following key aspects of HB 5344 included: 👉🏾 Licensing Timeline Acceleration: The compliance timeline for licensing has been reduced significantly. Instead of the previous 30 months post-effectiveness of the Act, individuals are now required to be licensed within just 10 months following the adoption of necessary administrative rules. 👉🏾 Title and Practice Restrictions: It stipulates that no one can engage in the practice of applied behavior analysis or use related professional titles such as "licensed behavior analyst" or "licensed assistant behavior analyst" unless they are properly licensed. 👉🏾 Business Compliance: The bill also tightens regulations around business practices, specifying that any business organization providing behavior analysis services must ensure that all members, partners, shareholders, directors, officers, and employees involved in delivering these services are licensed However this bill is NOT necessarily to reinforce professional standards in the field of behavior analysis and ensure that services are provided by qualified individuals. Please see comments for Dr Ashley’s clarification For more detailed information about HB 5344, you can visit the LegiScan page for the bill https://lnkd.in/gNxTUQHy Thanks for sharing this update Dr. Ashley.

Reflecting on Brown vs. Board of Education, we recognize how far we've come in championing educational equity and diversity. The landmark ruling declared that "separate but equal" has no place in education, paving the way for an inclusive environment where all students can thrive. Let's continue to honor this progress and work towards a future where every student, regardless of their background, has access to quality education. #Diversity #EducationEquality #BrownvBoard
On May 17, 1954 – 70 years ago today – Brown v. Board opened the door for countless students by closing the door on legalized segregation in our nation’s schools. Use resources from the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration - including the text of the decision - to teach about the impact & legacy of Brown v. Board: https://lnkd.in/g5eWUzUv
