Involved in #solar and curious about solar module or #battery storage #procurement efficiency? You'll enjoy this podcast episode of Currents Norton Rose Fulbright featuring Mike Hall, the CEO of Anza Renewables. It reviews the evolution of the solar and energy storage industry, plus Mike explains how Anza's platform solves a fundamental problem in the solar and energy storage market: helping buyers use data to make well-informed energy project purchase choices. Anza helps with two types of procurement: 1. Solar modules 2. Battery storage (Both AC and DC blocks) Anza's platform covers 95% of the US market and can rank suppliers by "effective dollar per watt," showing the price in effective differences (production, price, installation cost). We've been proud to be a part of building Anza's platform, and we enjoy learning new things about the solar industry from Mike's podcast appearances. There's a new energy sheriff in town. For the 6th consecutive month, solar has led new US electrical generating capacity additions, exceeding FERC's prior forecasts, followed by wind and natural gas which have been volleying for second. That makes a six month run from September 2023 that is poised to continue as solar adoption doesn't show any signs of slowing down. The share of renewables in US power generation is projected to grow significantly, from 25% today to 45% by 2030. However, the intermittent nature of solar and wind power often creates a mismatch between energy supply and demand. One way to manage risk in a renewables-heavy portfolio is to diversify risk exposures, and add flexible assets including batteries and gas. The government is pressing ahead with minimum energy efficiency standards for private rented and social housing. ...but what if you're tenant or live in a property where you can't install solar or wind generation? We recently talked with Sarah Merrick, Founder of our partner Ripple Energy, to find out a bit more about how they are enabling people to own a part of a solar or wind farm and get the energy generated directly off their bills. Utility-scale energy storage systems have become increasingly popular in the last several years. The most recent episode of “Dispatches from the Energy Transition,” a webinar series hosted by Mayfield Renewables and Outfit, in partnership with Solar Builder, focused on the rising demand of large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). “I think we've been seeing it go up, especially after the IRA was passed to allow storage, and that was I think the big boost,” says Drew Lebowitz, principal and managing director at PowerSwitch. “But even by those predictions, when that actually came into law in 2023, I think things have really taken off in an amazing way. There's been just a huge investment in projects.” Read a recap of the webinar, skip to timestamps of key moments, or watch the full episode, right here ---> https://lnkd.in/gh6FerHe #renewableenergy #energystorage #microgrids #utilityscalesolar

☀️ Virtual Power Plant: Gain access to higher paying markets Virtual Power Plants can aggregate the energy produced by multiple smaller-scale solar plants, creating a more significant and more consistent power source that meets minimum requirements for taking part in day-ahead-markets. This aggregation allows solar plant operators to participate in energy markets and sell their electricity at competitive prices, which might not be possible for smaller operators on their own. Learn more about Virtual Power Plants in this article, with insights from Skyfri CEO, Christian Blom: https://lnkd.in/dpjaQ8kq #SolarEnergy #VPP #Skyfri
