🌟 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆. From pioneering software engineering to leading groundbreaking projects, the contributions of women in our industry are nothing short of inspiring. Yet, despite these achievements, gender diversity in tech remains a challenge. How can we ensure that more women not only enter the field but also thrive within it? 💡 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. Recognizing the successes of women in tech is crucial, but it’s equally important to support initiatives that foster an inclusive environment. Mentorship programs, scholarships, and inclusive hiring practices are essential steps toward building a tech industry where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Throughout history, technology has been predominantly a male-dominated field, perpetuating a cycle where women have been discouraged from pursuing careers in tech. When young girls fail to see themselves reflected in prominent roles, it becomes harder for them to envision themselves succeeding in similar positions. Breaking this cycle requires creating inclusive environments that showcase diverse role models and celebrate the achievements of women in tech. “The gender gap isn’t a talent pool problem. The real issue isn’t getting women into tech - that’s the easiest part. It’s about ensuring they stay, grow, and lead”, Eleni Aktypi, MD at WE LEAD Women still hold around 12% of tech leadership positions worldwide! Additionally, according to several surveys more than one out of three women in tech plan on quitting their jobs in the near future due to gender discrimination. These were some of the topics discussed during the "Beyond Diversity: Building Inclusive Workplaces that Drive Innovation and Growth" panel at the 3rd Skill Up Forum, powered by Envolve Entrepreneurship and linq.  Our Managing Director, Eleni Aktypi, joined Rosie Tsela, Business Manager CSR at SAP Hellas, for an insightful discussion moderated by Betty Tsakarestou, Associate Professor & Director at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. Even more concerning, women hold only 15% of engineering roles and 25% of computing roles. This gap isn’t just about numbers—it’s about missed opportunities for innovation, diversity, and economic growth. Research shows that companies with more diverse teams perform 35% better financially and are 1.7 times more likely to innovate effectively. Yet, systemic barriers such as pay gaps, lack of mentorship, and workplace bias continue to limit women’s representation in the tech sector.
