Hands & Feet Project, Inc.’s Post

A glimpse within: As anticipation and speculation rise, Kenyan troops are now patrolling Port-au-Prince in the first phase of the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission, commonly referred to as "the Kenyans." Reactions to this deployment are mixed. Some are relieved to see an armed presence, while others express concerns over the small troop numbers, inadequate weapons, and delays in funding. Despite this, gangs continue to hold power, even expanding their territories. We bring you this story to offer a glimpse behind the scenes, including insights from PM Conille himself amid the ongoing violence and destruction. As bullets fly in Port-au-Prince and surrounding communities, H&FP staff remain committed to their responsibilities. Even with the troop presence, we stay vigilant, closely monitoring the situation and making necessary plans to ensure the safety and well-being of the children and families in our care. Light up the eyes of its people with Your hope and clarity, and prevent them from being overcome by despair. Inspire them with Your strength and guidance, leading them toward a future filled with renewal.
