🌏🕘 Last week marked another global celebration of Earth Hour, an event that encourages individuals, communities, and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights for one hour as a statement of commitment to our planet. However, the journey towards a healthier planet extends far beyond the one-hour lights-off event. Here are some actions we can take to maintain momentum in our commitment to the Earth: 1️⃣ Reduce energy consumption: incorporate energy-saving habits into daily life, like using energy-efficient appliances, reducing water heating expenses, and maximizing natural light. 2️⃣ Sustainable transportation: opt for walking, biking, carpooling, or public transport to reduce carbon emissions. If you don't live in Hong Kong and need a car, consider electric or hybrid vehicles as a greener alternative. 3️⃣ Educate and advocate: share knowledge and raise awareness about environmental issues. Support policies and initiatives that aim to reduce carbon footprints and protect the environment. #earthhoureveryday #earthhour2024 #bethedo
⏰🌎How will you spend Earth Hour 2024? In addition to switching off your lights on Saturday March 23 at 8:30 p.m. local time, Earth Hour is also a chance to spend 60 minutes doing good for the planet while doing something you love. Will you reconnect with nature? Learn something new about our planet? Or maybe you're still looking for a good idea, in which case check out our partners at Count Us In! #earthhour #climateaction #sustainability

Today is Earth Overshoot Day 🌏😔 Overshoot occurs when humanity's demand on nature exceeds Earth's biocapacity. The year I was born, #EarthOvershootDay would happen early in December. But over the last few decades, the ecological and carbon footprint of humans has gradually increased, all while Earth's biocapacity (its ability to regenerate resources) has diminished significantly. That has led to Earth Overshoot Day arriving earlier and earlier.. While all conversations have become largely dominated by the topic of #climatechange, there are other systems which are just as critical to consider when thinking about Earth's biocapacity. To reflect on Earth Systems Boundaries - I recommend this great discussion between Nate Hagens and environmental scientist Johan Rockström: https://lnkd.in/gFdaV3Ud #TippingPoint #PlanetaryBoundary #EarthOvershootDay #MoveTheDate

Tomorrow is “The Biggest Hour for Earth!" 🌎 Earth Hour, organized by WWF, known for the “lights off” moment, is supported by individuals around the globe by switching off their lights to show symbolic support for the planet. This moment helps raise awareness of the environmental issues affecting all of us. This year marks the 18th edition of the world’s largest grassroots environmental movement. In 2023, supporters in 190 countries and territories - 90% of Earth’s population! - gave over 410,000 hours to our planet. It is amazing how this simple task brought us together for a common goal. Do you have 60 minutes tomorrow for some quiet time? If so, take the hour starting at 8:30 pm local time 🕣 on March 23rd to switch off your lights and do something good for the planet. It is the least we can do considering all that Mother Earth has given to us. 🦋 🐧 🐘 🦎 🐬 🐝 🌻 Watch this short video for some ideas on how you can participate. https://lnkd.in/dR3T_gJZ INF Associates is dedicated to reducing the carbon footprint in our environment and look forward to taking part in this important movement. How will you help make a difference? #MyHourForEarth #ClimateChange #EarthHour #OurHourOurPower #BiggestHourforEarth

This idea holds a special place in my heart, and there's a clear reason why. During the creative process of crafting this video, my thoughts centered on one question: What comes to mind when I think of 'earth'? Vivid imagery of its beauty flooded my thoughts, but something kept disturbing these images, revealing a troubling reality of today. Ocean waste, deforestation, and the plight of wildlife disrupted these thoughts. These are not just topics for idle conversation; they demand action. Let's move beyond mere discussion and address today's reality. Consider this a wake-up call! Thank you Naresh Sharma for understanding the concept and executing it so beautifully. :) #WorldEarthDay
“Save Our Only Home” This video serves as a wake-up call, reminding us of our responsibility for the state of our planet today. Let's not only discuss but actively work towards a greener future, recognizing that it's our actions that will shape Earth's destiny. #WakeupCall #EarthNeedsYou #SaveYourOnlyHome #ReimagineEarth

🌀''We often talk about Mother Nature as if it is really our mother—a being that deliberately nurtures us and has our best interests at heart. But it isn't, and doesn't. “The Earth without us is not some delicate nurturing paradise. It's very dynamic. It changes all the time. It's deficient. It doesn't give us a lot of resources and it's dangerous and we need to impact it a lot productively to make it feel stable” Watch the full interview with Julian Reichelt: https://lnkd.in/gNX-E4EB Get #FossilFuture: FossilFuture.com
