Over the weekend Life! attended the General Practice Conference and Exhibition (GPCE) together with one of our providers, ‘Lifestyle as Medicine’ at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event was attended by over 3000 health professionals and 250 other exhibitors in the healthcare space. It was encouraging that many GPs we spoke to had already heard about the Life! program, were keen to find out more and learn how to refer their patients. 🤜🤛 We also enjoyed networking with other organisations in the sector to discuss opportunities for collaboration. Because together, we are stronger. 💪 Find out more about the Life! Program, our referral system and how your patients can benefit 🧑⚕️ >>> https://bit.ly/3RL5oZe GPCE (General Practice Conference & Exhibition) Diabetes Victoria #health #type2diabetesprevention #DiabetesVictoria

Did you miss CEO Dan Stinton (Healthengine) and Dr Nick Coatsworth (Australian Patients Association) on the Channel 9 Today show, discussing the 6th #Australian #Healthcare Index? Watch the interview here: https://lnkd.in/gdz57fda Together, Healthengine and the Australian Patients Association surveyed over 9,000 Australians to understand their perspectives on healthcare, evolving needs, and the impact of economic factors and government schemes. The report reveals a concerning pattern of delayed #GP and #dental visits, people going without needed #medication as cost-of-living pressures bite and wait times continuing to expand. There are some great strengths in there too. Download the report here: https://shorturl.at/S8Smu

Especially for National #SelfCareWeek preliminary insights of our recent research with Self-Care Academic Research Unit (SCARU) -The Living Self-Care Study has been revealed. Unsurprisingly, findings reveal that most people #selfcare (4 out of 5) with just 4 per cent visiting a GP for symptoms of common conditions. Interestingly there is a disconnect between patients and health professionals believing patients are unwilling to self-care whilst patients themselves say they already self-care and want more responsibility. To address this disconnect the research suggests a common language is needed for health professionals and patients to be able to talk #selfcare to each other. What Do Patients Value More: Outcomes or Experiences? "These data suggest that, perhaps at times, the priorities of payment model design, insurers, and, indeed, perhaps clinicians are less completely aligned with what matters most to patients." This study explores whether patients place more importance on treatment outcomes (Patient-Reported Outcome Measures, PROMs) or their experiences (Patient-Reported Experience Measures, PREMs) when evaluating medical teams. The survey included 998 patients from four European countries (France, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom) with conditions such as breast cancer, diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, depression, or arthritis. 69.9% of patients found outcomes very important, while 58.1% considered experiences very important. The study suggests that health care quality measurements and models should focus more on PROMs since patients generally find them more important than PREMs. This insight is crucial for designing value-based payment models that align better with what patients value most in their health care journey. Dr. Sara Al Dallal thank you for sharing.
