Rates of behavioral health needs are higher for people living with HIV (PLWH) and those at risk of acquiring HIV than the general population. Current research indicates PLWH are twice as likely to have a behavioral health condition than the general population. For this reason, our partners at Vivent Health have created this new infographic highlighting some basic information about integrated care for PLWH that providers need to know. 👧👨⚕️Initiating HIV treatment in young girls and women not only improves their own health but also reduces the risk of transmitting the virus to others, including their partners and unborn children. Early treatment can also help young girls and women living with HIV lead longer, healthier lives and reduce the overall burden of the disease on communities and health systems.🩺 #HIV #HIV #HIVTREATMENT #HIVAWARENESS #health #healthcare #healthtips #healthandwellness #DrSwapnilGautam

The latest #HIV data from Public Health Scotland show that the Scottish Government needs to take urgent action to ensure that everyone living with HIV is diagnosed and on effective treatment to end new transmissions by 2030. We urge the Scottish Government to now double down on the actions set out in the Elimination Delivery Plan, published earlier this year, by fast-tracking and funding the interventions that are needed. https://lnkd.in/gRfBv7xr

Please join me (or help spread the word) for an insightful #webinar that delves into the unique challenges and disparities faced by #Hispanic and #Latino communities in the fight against #HIV. Despite overall declines in HIV infection rates, Latinos continue to experience disproportionately high rates of new diagnoses, particularly in the #Southeast. We'll explore the systemic, cultural, and economic barriers—such as #racism, l#anguage barriers, and #medicalmistrust —that contribute to these disparities, and discuss why #publichealth efforts often fall short in addressing the needs of this diverse population. The webinar will also highlight successful community-based strategies and interventions, including culturally competent care models and the importance of access to prevention tools like #PrEP. Whether you're a healthcare provider, advocate, or community leader, this session will provide valuable insights and practical approaches to help improve HIV outcomes for Latinos. Here in Fiji and across the Pacific, we face a pressing challenge— a worrying rise in HIV infections. In Fiji alone, #HIV cases have surged by over 240 percent since 2010. Last year, 82 lives were lost to #AIDS-related illnesses, and in just the first half of this year, more than 550 new infections were reported. This video discusses how we can choose the "rights path" of compassion, equity, and dignity to create a future where no one is left behind. #TakeTheRightsPath
