This National Reconciliation Week we are proud to announce the launch of our newly endorsed Reconciliation Action Plan. To help us kick-start our journey, Karyn Ross from Jharmbi & Co facilitated a moving truth-telling and storytelling session that helped us understand how the past influences the present and our journey ahead. The session was overwhelmingly a highlight of our recent offsite conference. We're excited to begin this reconciliation journey, learning more, building relationships and working together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Many thanks to Reconciliation Australia for supporting us on this journey. Since 2006, Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs) have enabled organisations like ours to sustainably and strategically take meaningful action to advance reconciliation. Based around the core pillars of relationships, respect and opportunities, RAPs provide tangible and substantive benefits for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, increasing economic equity and supporting First Nations self-determination. #reconciliationweek #NRW2024 #reconciliationjourney #RAP
We all need to start somewhere and I am proud of our people and our business for embarking on our reconciliation journey. This is just the first step of an important ongoing path ahead.
Very excited for our RAP journey ahead, both personally and for our organisation. Thank you Karyn for your truth telling in sharing your story, it was so moving and inspiring. Looking forward to seeing our commitment grow over this next stage in our reconciliation journey.
It's been such a huge pleasure being part of the RAP journey. Very excited to continue to see our commitment develop over the next 18 months.
It was moving to hear of Karyn's and her family's experiences, adding colour and perspective to the work our RAP team have done in contributing to this conversation.
How exciting for The Next Step! Congrats on your RAP journey.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Karyn Ross and helping to inspire us as we begin this important journey.
Well done team - a great achievement!

7moIn the traditions of Aboriginal Elders and storytelling, Karen shared her own person stories, Karryn helped us to understand the connection to nature, community and each other, and having a positive impact on our workplace, our communities and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Peoples. It’s about building a culturally safe environment for all, including the world’s oldest living culture. Karen stories also helped to highlight why it is so importance to embrace our RAP and thinking about the small part that we can all play and how we can all continue to learn. A huge thank you to Laura Craddock, Eliza Kennedy (she/her), Johanna A. and the entire RAP team for starting us on this journey.
