🛫 Flying home for Christmas 🎶 🎶 Our colleagues at Heathrow Express are spreading some festive 🎅 cheer with a tiny, yet mighty, 10cm Christmas tree. Tucked away at Paddington Station, this mini 🎄 tree is here to bring a big smile to everyone who passes by – and a reminder that 🎟️ prices are just as small when you book Heathrow Express tickets in advance. Well done people, people and people is the most important thing for Airport Development
Heathrow’s COO Javier Echave shares his insights on Heathrow's incredible summer performance. This August, we welcomed nearly 8 million passengers, marking our fourth consecutive record-breaking month. We managed our busiest day ever on August 18th with 269,000 passengers and our busiest week with 1.8 million passengers. This video is a thank you to all of our colleagues who worked so hard during the summer months to achieve these milestones.

Delta Air Lines taking a similar approach of other airlines opening 3 new premium lounges. I think it's a good thing given most airline lounges are overflowing these days. https://lnkd.in/gzMJ46gm #deltaairlines #deltaone

Heathrow Express, I get it that sometimes things go wrong that are outside your control which means you can’t run a service from Heathrow to Paddington. You are providing a premium service (and ticket prices reflect that), so it would have been a good experience if you had informed your customers in the arrivals terminal rather than at the station and provided an alternative. Instead, the service you provided was anything but a good experience. #customerexperince #servicedelivery #customerservice

When you think "luxury", JetBlue isn't generally what comes to mind unless we're referring to extra snacks. The carrier is going premium with plan to build its first-ever airport lounges to bolster profits and support its turnaround. JFK and Boston Logan airports will soon be home to JetBlue’s first airport lounges, and if you believe the carrier, these lounges will be very exclusive. It's also a sign of the changing airline industry where discount carriers are facing increasing pressure from investors for revenue and consumers for better services. This is a different kind of project 2025. The sky's the limit as this is part of JetBlue's grand "JetForward" program, which includes a $400 million investment between 2025 and 2027 in premium products. The new luxury lounges are expected to launch next year and will align closely to boost the value of JetBlue's TrueBlue loyalty program. At a sky-high level, the lounges themselves are similar to what other carriers offer - free food and beverages, free wi-fi and of course, plenty of legroom to socialize and relax until your plane shows up. Exclusive, but still crowded? For many of us who have spent time at these lounges, they can be either an oasis from the crowds or a nightmare in terms of being overrun by other passengers. JetBlue is promising that overcrowding won't happen, but like being stuck on the tarmac, the proof will be in the de-icing machine. Premium lounges are a sign of the times. Not only is airtravel becoming more competitive, so are the lounges. The industry is facing a significant shift especially for discount carriers. With the major airlines such as United, American and Delta are now offering a variety of services to passengers willing to pay for them. That's putting pressure on the likes of JetBlue and Southwest Airlines to up their revenue game towards profitability. Southwest is already putting an end to open seating and is moving towards paid seat assignments. Giddy up! The changes in the industry mean an interesting time is in store for travelers. Whether the plethora of premium services becomes the utopia many are expecting, we'll just to have to wait and see https://lnkd.in/gdJyKQPb #jetblue #newyork #boston #airlines #airtravel #travel #luxury #vacation

An #Ideaworks CarTrawler study shows #airlines raking it in with their #airportlounges. Airport Lounges Are the Hottest Ticket was issued today as an 18-page report to describe the economics of lounges and consumer fascination with these airport retreats. The following are additional key findings from the report: - Co-branded credit cards contribute 40% of guests for airline-operated lounges in the US, with just 5% of guests purchasing single visit passes. - Oneworld, SkyTeam, and Star Alliance together offer access to more than 2,300 lounges worldwide. - Delta’s Sky Clubs likely generated more than $772 million for the airline in 2023. - Capital One, which is set to add 300 million customers with its purchase of Discover Card, operates 50+ Capital One Cafes in urban settings, and airport lounges at Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, and Washington Dulles. Capital One needs one in Orlando! https://lnkd.in/e6nRpKvM #ancillaryrevenue Nice one Jay Sorensen

March 2024 at Cork Airport ✈️ 🧍♂️🧍♀️ 226,250 passengers 📈 +25% growth vs. March 2023 👮♂️ 100% through security in less than 20 minutes 🛫 83% average load factor 🧳 Average bag return time: 10 minutes 📆 Busiest day: Friday, March 29 📍 Busiest destination: London Heathrow Last month, we welcomed over 45,000 more passengers compared to March 2023. Passenger numbers in January, February and March have all been well ahead of 2023 levels and last month's traffic was boosted by international sporting fixtures, St. Patrick's Day/Bank Holiday and the start of the Easter school holidays. Commenting on last month's business performance, daa CEO Kenny Jacobs said: "Cork Airport had another fantastic month, with passenger numbers up 25% on March last year. A very extensive summer schedule has just started at Cork Airport, with a new Ryanair service to Brussels starting last weekend. Other new Ryanair services to Rhodes and Zadar will take off in June and Air France will add additional capacity on their key hub connections to Paris Charles de Gaulle for July and August,” #LoveTakingOff 📷 Magnifly

Heathrow Airport is set to cap off its busiest-ever year with two record months as passenger numbers soar over the Christmas period. The Hounslow hub said it served 6.5m passengers in November, up 6.1 per cent year-on-year, and on Wednesday forecast December would also be a record breaker. Christmas day is expected to see close to a quarter jump in passenger numbers, it added. Such strong demand saw eight of Heathrow’s key destinations join a select few which have served over 1m passengers so far in 2024. The UK’s biggest airport is currently on target for 25 of its routes to reach 1m passengers, up from 24 last year. Continue reading 👇 https://bit.ly/3ZNmnOk
