Albany Law School your disabling comments on posts will not stop your accountability for your failure to address anti-Semitism. It has been nearly 150 days since a horrific attack in Israel, where terrorists engaged in acts of violence, including rape, decapitation, kidnapping, and murder against Jews and others. In the wake of this tragedy, a professor from Albany Law School, Nina Farnia, publicly celebrated these actions. Despite the gravity of her statements, neither she nor the law school's administration, including the Dean, have issued a retraction or condemnation. Most troublesome is that Albany Law has engaged in a pattern of behavior that reflects a deep-seated indifference, if not outright hostility, towards addressing anti-Semitism within the law school community. It is the is this non-responsiveness to hate rhetoric that marks a clear hypocrisy and disparate treatment of minority students, faculty, and alumni. Stakeholders and affiliates of Albany Law School must critically evaluate whether they wish to support an institution whose leadership appears to condone anti-Jewish sentiment and shows a reluctance to embrace change. Since the October 7th attack, and Nina Farnia’s twitter post, hundreds of alumni have reached out to the Dean and signed petitions demanding action against the professor's egregious celebration of violence. These communications have gone unanswered, lacking even the basic courtesy of an acknowledgment. This silence suggests a disconcerting indifference on the part of the law school. The Albany Times Union and numerous nonprofit organizations have criticized Albany Law for its apparent insensitivity. This situation has unfortunately contributed to a perception of Albany Law as anti-Semitic, aligning it with a troubling trend of tone-deafness and arrogance observed in several other academic institutions. Moreover, on social media, the law school has remained silent about the harmful impact of its professor's hate speech. Despite hosting numerous diversity events, not one has addressed anti-Semitism. On March 6th (next week), the Jewish Law Students Association (Cardozo Society), without any support from the law school, is hosting a Holocaust survivor to share his experiences. Given the recent concerns surrounding the law school's attitude towards Jewish community members, one might expect this event to receive significant attention on their social media platforms. Yet, there has been no mention. This silence is consistent with previous instances where the administration failed to engage meaningfully with events organized by the Jewish student association, opting instead for superficial participation.

Native Forward Scholars Fund has been at the forefront of providing financial support to Native students for over five decades. Despite our efforts and success, we currently face a significant gap in funding, with only 18% of applicants receiving scholarships. This leaves 82% of our deserving students without the financial support they need to pursue higher education. Our mission is to address this unmet need and ensure that every Native student has the opportunity to achieve their educational goals. The scholarships we provide are not just financial aid; they are lifelines that empower students to break cycles of oppression, achieve career goals, and contribute back to their Tribal communities. The impact of our work is evident in the successes of our scholars, who have gone on to become leaders and change-makers in their fields. Join us in our mission to empower Native scholars and bridge the funding gap. Together, we can create a brighter future for all Native students. Donate now: https://ow.ly/6CUc50SnoT5
