🚨 Have you taken action this Breast Cancer Awareness Month? 🚨 What if THIS was the moment that could save a life—maybe even your own? This past weekend, I spent time reflecting on and supporting breast cancer awareness in our community, and I’m here to share some important reminders with you: On Saturday, I joined my mother and the Central Nassau Club of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs Inc for their Triple The Pink Day Party. We discussed the significance of Triple Negative Breast Cancer, a condition that disproportionately affects Black women. Together, we honored survivors and emphasized the power of community and knowledge. 💕🎗️ Then on Sunday, I walked with the Theta Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated at Jones Beach for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. 🌊👟 I’ve decided to rename this month Breast Cancer ACTION Month because we must do more than just be aware—we need to take steps. 💪🏽 Here’s how YOU can make an impact: ✅ Early Detection Saves Lives – Schedule that mammogram NOW! ✅ Move Your Body – Walking, running, or any form of exercise helps lower your risk. ✅ Maintain a Healthy Weight – Less excess tissue means lower estrogen levels, which reduces your risk. ✅ Educate Yourself – Knowledge is power. The more you know, the more you can help yourself and others. ✅ Share the Love – Show love to those battling this fight and don’t forget to love on yourself. Self-care is always the priority. 💖 🌸 Don’t wait—take action today! Follow us for more information, support, and ways to make a difference during Breast Cancer Action Month! 🌸 #BreastCancerActionMonth #TripleNegativeBreastCancer #MakingStrides #BreastCancerAwareness #SupportTheSurvivors #SelfCareMatters

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we stand with everyone fighting cancer and those supporting them. Early awareness campaigns helped break stigmas and draw attention to a disease that, while affecting people of all genders, disproportionately impacts women. Attention-grabbing slogans increased visibility and awareness, which helped drive crucial research funding and support systems we still need today. But we’re aware now, and we need more than acknowledgement of breast cancer—we need understanding. Fighting breast cancer isn’t about saving breasts; it’s about supporting people through complex medical, emotional, and personal decisions about their bodies and lives. Having or not having breasts should be a person’s choice (to the extent possible) and driven by medical guidance and their wishes. Breasts are not a measure of womanhood or identity. Early detection can save lives, not by “saving breasts” but by giving people more options and better odds in their fight against cancer. And sometimes, removing breasts is what saves the person. And it’s the person—not the body part—who deserves our focus, support, and care. #BreastCancerAwareness #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #BreastCancer

🩷Don’t Just Think Pink–Take Action! 🩷 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it is about more than just pink ribbons. Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in women. It affects 1 in 8 women in their lifetime. These are our colleagues, friends, mothers, daughters, and sisters. That statistic isn’t just a number; it’s a reminder of how close to home this really is. For me, this is especially personal, as my sister-in-law (Michelle Demers—center in the photo below) and my aunt were both diagnosed in the last two years. It’s tough to realize just how many people close to me have been impacted by breast cancer. Here’s the thing: Awareness isn’t just a word—it’s action. It’s about scheduling that mammogram, supporting those fighting this battle, and encouraging the survivors who have come out on the other side. Early detection saves lives! Being proactive and staying vigilant can make all the difference! So this October, let’s honor the fighters, the survivors, and those we've lost by showing our support and taking action. As women, let’s wear our pink with pride, start the conversation, and prioritize our health. Together, we stand stronger. Together, we raise awareness. Together, we save lives! Let’s make this month count! 💗 #SarahUnfiltered #BreastCancerAwareness #ThinkPink #StrongerTogether
