We’re quite happy to have been mentioned in Harvard Business Review along with our close friends in the innovation ecosystem of DTU. In the article, our ecosystem is used as an example of how universities can establish themselves as a cradle for innovation that makes a positive impact on our common global society. It’s not an easy task to establish such an ecosystem that enables both students and researchers alike to journey out into the world of tech entrepreneurship, but with great partners, that task becomes a much more pleasant ride. Here’s to even more great tech for our society! 🥂🚀 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dusXNsFr #DTUInnovation #Tech #Innovation #Startup #DeepTech #dtudk DTU - Technical University of Denmark DTU Entrepreneurship DTU Science Park PreSeed Ventures DTU Earthbound

Nice #HBR article on #universities as central figures in societal and environmental #innovation. No shocker, but always nice to remind oneself of the unique role that research institutions play in nudging interdisciplinary and diverse collaborations that would not happen if left to commercial interests alone. 1. Student innovation and entrepreneurial programming (curriculum, experiential) 2. Ecosystem development, leveraging and linking university and community innovation and entrepreneurship resources 3.Active encouragement of diversity and inclusion Frank Rimalovski NYU Entrepreneurial Institute #proofofconcept #venture #startups #studententrepreneurship #accelerator https://lnkd.in/gymstGEi

"The best course I've had during my university studies!" That's the kind of feedback that makes one so happy. Especially since it's for a new type of course, namely the HealthTech and Energy Linkage courses that we've been setting up as joint courses for master-level students from Aalto University and University of Helsinki. Each of these two courses focuses on one industry/theme, and students learn how innovation, entrepreneurship and research commercialisation work in that industry. Student intake is limited and by application, and the students come from very different backgrounds and study programs and very nicely complement each other. In the courses we have strong involvement from companies through guest lectures, mentoring, and the students do projects for companies. The course culminates in a community event hosted by one company where the students present their projects, and where we invite broadly. The courses thus also serve as a platform to build a community for the respective industries. It's always great to see the willingness of company representatives to engage with the next generation of talent! The next edition of the HealthTech and Energy Linkage courses will start in January 2025, and the application period is during autumn this year (see the comments for links to the course info pages). We also have plans to extend the course concept to other industries and themes. Stay tuned! And thanks to my co-teachers and collaborators: Märt Vesinurm, Christian Langen, Jouni Lounasmaa, Tiina Immonen, Valentin Jutila, Ghida Khalife, and all the others who have made these courses a success! #innovation #entrepreneurship #deeptech #education
