🚨 This is a reminder of a serious issue in youth sports: age misrepresentation. Cheating like this happens far too often, but it only makes headlines when it occurs at the highest levels. NSID helps prevent these situations in youth sports. #YouthSports #FairPlay #NSID

According to recent data (below), youth involvement in tennis in the UK has seen fluctuations over the years, with participation numbers highlighting an important area for growth and engagement. As someone planning a community-driven tennis initiative, this data reinforces why it's critical to build more inclusive and accessible opportunities for youth, particularly in underrepresented groups. A key factor is understanding the importance of listening directly to those we serve. Through feedback - whether it's via surveys, interviews, or informal check-ins - we can adapt our programmes to better meet the needs of participants. For example, when testing community focused tennis programmes, I learned that participants (especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds) are more likely to stay engaged when we provide affordable equipment, tailored coaching and a supportive community. It’s not just about playing tennis, it’s about building confidence, fostering connections and offering support. In order to truly grow tennis participation across all communities, we must actively involve and empower those who often feel excluded from traditional sports systems. With data as a guide and ongoing feedback from participants, we can ensure that these programmes not only increase participation but also have a lasting positive impact on lives. #LearningSprintIOCYL #IOCYoungLeaders #SportsDevelopment #TennisForAll

Proud to collaborate with UEFA on advancing accessibility in football #UEFAAccessibilityGuidelines Accessibility in European football is about more than just infrastructure for disabled people; it touches on the needs of over 40% of all people, making football truly inclusive for staff, volunteers, and fans. The recent UEFA Champions League match at Club Atlético de Madrid demonstrated how accessible design can benefit everyone, showcasing the inclusive facilities and initiatives featured in UEFA’s Accessibility Guidelines. These guidelines not only support matchday experiences but also emphasize creating welcoming spaces for non-matchday activities, fostering a strong sense of community. There are over 120 million disabled people in the European Union, and with the increasing interest in football, we have a huge opportunity to set a global standard for accessibility. Equal access ensures that everyone can participate and enjoy the game on equal terms. Explore the guidelines and learn more about making football more inclusive on the #UEFA and #AccessibAll websites. Together, we can make football truly welcoming for all. Write it down 📝 Youth participation is about active involvement in decision-making. Youth involvement is often equated with athlete representation, overlooking ❗️ broader youth engagement within organisational decision-making processes. 📷️ Youth in action activity, Young Delegate Marie Youth🫱🏽🫲🏿Sport #youthsport
