The VINE’s Post

Field days are where innovation meets the soil—they're essential for bringing agtech solutions directly to the farmers who need them most. To that end, last week we hosted our first-ever VINE Connect Field Day at the Kearney Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Parlier. This event was the culmination of our VINE Connect program, where selected agtech companies participated in months of field trial readiness workshops to prepare for real-world demonstrations with California’s agricultural community. The event was a success, packed with hands-on demos, engaging discussions, and practical insights, all underscoring the value of connecting farmers directly with technology developers. We had a fantastic mix of farmers, researchers, tech innovators, and investors on-site, all eager to see new ideas in action and talk through how these tools can support California agriculture. Seeing these connections in real time—farmers sharing feedback, developers asking questions, and new relationships forming—was a powerful reminder of what collaboration can accomplish for agricultural innovation. A huge thank you to everyone who made this event possible—our partners at Farmhand Ventures, F3Local, F3 Initiative, and UCANR, the dedicated team at Kearney Agricultural Research and Extension Center for hosting us, and of course, the participants who brought their A-game to the day: AKSATA, AMOS Power , Bonsai Robotics, Gather Agriculture, and RapidAIM Pty Ltd.
