Today we held a very productive online consortium meeting for the SuCoLo project, where partners shared their progress from the past six months. It was great to meet and hear all the updates! 💻🤝🚵 A special thank you to the advisory members who took the time out of their day to participate and provide valuable guidance. The SuCoLo project explores the alignment of needs, opportunities and  interactions of freight bicycle delivery actors, citizens and digital service providers to develop behaviour change techniques to nudge online consumers to choose net-zero methods of delivery and pick-up of goods in urban outskirts. Using living lab methods and involving an advisory board, we will collaboratively design and test novel concepts in Salzburg, Leipzig, and Merano, aiming to promote sustainable, neighbourhood-centered and inclusive goods delivery and pick-up in urban fringe areas. Our project partners are Salzburg Research, STA - Südtiroler Transportstrukturen AG, VIABIRDS Technologies, Sustainability InnoCenter, Logistics Living Lab and Cooperativa sociale independent L. Today marks an exciting new chapter for Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc (MSIP) and the wider Dundee community. We’re pleased to share that Wilkie, a 160-year-old Scottish family-owned technical textile company, is partnering with Scottish Enterprise to lead MSIP into our next phase of innovation and growth. This transformative partnership brings with it the potential for up to 600 new jobs and an estimated £50 million investment in cutting-edge infrastructure, technology, and R&D. Wilkie’s relocation to MSIP from its historic Kirriemuir home is a strategic move that sets the stage for growth while reaffirming its commitment to sustainability, advanced manufacturing, and the communities it serves. Our commitment to sustainable innovation through the delivery of a successful innovation programme, supporting those located at MSIP to grow, and providing value to our partners, remains unchanged. Council Leader Mark Flynn: “A huge amount has been achieved at MSIP since the closure of the Michelin tyre factory less than five years ago. “This ground-breaking partnership has delivered an innovation hub, a skills academy, an accelerator programme, a home for start-ups and numerous local job opportunities. “Today’s announcement marks the next stage of the site’s evolution. This is a transition of ownership which aligns with the long-term strategic vision for MSIP. “Ultimately the goal was to create employment for local people, and this new chapter promises significant job creation for Dundee. “I look forward to seeing how the site further develops in the coming years.”

New Portfolio Company: Emerald has led a €6.2M investment in Vytal | The reuse system to fuel the reusable packaging revolution! At the UEFA EURO 2024 fan zones, Vytal is supplying reusable dishes for over 70,000 football fans in Berlin, Cologne and Stuttgart. This marks the company's significant entry into the major events business. They previously equipped the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) and the online OMR marketing festival with Vytal dishes, and soon the fan zone of the German House at the Summer Olympics Paris 2024 will be as well.
