October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it's important to highlight that breast cancer affects everyone, including minority communities and men. African American women face a 40% higher mortality rate than white women, and while it’s less common, men account for approximately 1 in 100 breast cancer cases. As our Founder and CEO, Dr. RD Harris says, "Awareness is power, and inclusive care is life-saving. We must ensure everyone has access to the resources and support needed to detect and treat breast cancer early." Let’s come together this month to advocate for early detection, equitable care, and support for all those impacted. #BreastCancerAwareness #SupportTheFight #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #MinorityHealth #MensHealthMatters #PurpleSheepConsulting #DEIInAction #DrRDHarrisQuotes

💖🎗 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎗💖 Did you know that breast cancer affects Black women differently? While rates of diagnosis are similar across races, Black women die from breast cancer at a disproportionately higher rate compared to other groups. 📉 In fact, Black women are: 40% more likely to die from breast cancer than white women. Diagnosed younger with more aggressive forms, like triple-negative breast cancer. More likely to experience delayed diagnosis and treatment due to systemic barriers in healthcare. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, let’s amplify the conversation around these inequities and fight for equal access to care. Together, we can spread awareness, advocate for better policies, and encourage early detection within our communities. 💪🏾💗 Let’s break the silence. Let’s save lives. #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #BlackWomenandBreastCancer #FightLikeAWoman #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #HealthEquity #BlackHealthMatters #AdvocateforChange

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we stand with everyone affected by this disease. While breast cancer impacts a wide range of people, 99% of diagnoses occur among women and those assigned female at birth (source: Prevent Breast Cancer). With 70% of our team being women, this cause hits especially close to home for us. Throughout October, we will be sharing stories from our colleagues to raise awareness of breast cancer and its effects. We are encouraging everyone to prioritise their health—whether by practicing the Touch, Look, Check (TLC) method, attending regular mammograms, or even using our contributory benefit to pay for a private screening. Let’s come together to support, educate, and take action. #BreastCancerAwareness #TLC #HealthMatters #breastcancerawareness #EmployeeWellBeing

Breast cancer can affect any woman, regardless of family history. Let's spread awareness and encourage early detection. 1 in 7 women in Australia will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. It's a sobering statistic, but one that we can do something about. Early detection is key, and regular screenings can help catch cancer before it has a chance to spread. Remember, breast cancer can happen to any woman, with or without a history of breast cancer in the family. Let's spread awareness and encourage each other to prioritize our health. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. DM us or send an email to office@wbi.net.au. Together, we can make a difference. 🎀 #BreastCancerAwareness #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #WomensHealthMatters

Breast Cancer Awareness Month serves as a reminder that breast cancer impacts people of all ages and genders, yet older women face unique challenges in their journey. To pinpoint these challenges, especially for women over 65, and create a lasting solution to mitigate at least one of them, we’re collaborating with Esperity & Patient Centrics and Hogeschool PXL Zorginnovatie. There won’t be a 'one-size-fits-all' solution, but a ‘tailored-size-fits-some’ would already make a big difference. ✨ If you or someone close to you has been affected by breast cancer—especially for those over 65—your story matters. By taking part in the survey and sharing real-life experiences, you can help make a change. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this cause is especially close to my heart as my mother-in-law is currently battling breast cancer. 🎗️ Watching her strength and resilience reminds me every day how important it is to support those fighting this disease. Early detection and regular screenings are key, and we can all do our part by raising awareness and encouraging the women in our lives to prioritize their health. To every woman facing this battle, and for those we’ve lost, you are seen, supported, and never forgotten. Let’s continue to push for awareness, research, and hope for a cure. #BreastCancerAwareness #EarlyDetection #StrengthAndSupport #HopeForACure
