Meet the NewGen: This week we spoke with Dorcas and Peter from Solarjiji Technologies Limited to learn about their dreams, aspirations, and growth plans. “Our dream is to build SolarJiji into a world-class tech company that tackles real-world challenges in the renewable energy and #climate space. We aim to innovate and drive the adoption of renewable energy solutions that can make a significant impact on global #sustainability efforts,” said Dorcas. "We are currently focused on continuously improving our #renewableenergy forecasting product, specifically tailored for the #African market. Our current impact lies in enhancing the accuracy and reliability of #solarenergy predictions, which helps integrate renewable energy more effectively into the grid. In the future, we aim to expand our solutions to other renewable energy sources and broader geographies", she concluded. When asked about their expectations from the NewGen Accelerator and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) network, Peter shared: “We aspire to engage with the IRENA NewGen Renewable Energy Accelerator and its network to collaborate on global initiatives that promote renewable energy adoption. By partnering with IRENA NewGen, we hope to leverage their expertise, resources, and global reach to scale our solutions, contribute to policy development, and participate in international dialogues that drive the transition to a #sustainable energy future.” Peter concluded, “We are looking to partner with organizations and companies that share our vision for a sustainable future. This includes renewable energy companies, technology providers, research institutions, and government agencies. Additionally, we are open to collaborations with investors who are aligned with our mission and can support us in scaling our impact globally.” The NewGen Renewable Energy Accelerator Programme for Youth is an initiative that was established by IRENA, with the support of the United Arab Emirates and in partnership with Enel Foundation and Social Alpha as Knowledge Partners.
