#Balconygardening #Gardeningtips #Teracottapotsgardenideas #Balconyplants #Pocketveggarden I want to inspire you to start gardening. Even in a very small balcony garden you can create a place for growing your own vegetable, letucce, strawberies, garlic and onion, unpretentious herbs, such as thyme, mint, chives, basil and make your balcony look like a pocket veg garden. Teracotta pots last for decades, they look great and do very well. You must take care for drainage and soil moisture as the pots or containter quickly dry out in summer. Therefore, for good drainage place some clay, stones or shards or even pieces of styrofoam on the bottom of the container. You can put some old cotton cloths on the next layer. The cloths will absorb water and keep the soil wet even in a very hot summer. On top of the pot always put some mulch about 5 cm of straw, bark, pine cones, needles, of course all natural. These are some basics for gardening in pots. Make a change, and start gardening on a balcony! :-) Let it grow! 🌱 With Love to Nature and Plants 🌱 Garden villa 🌱

Plants to Lure in the Hummingbirds There’s a common thread amongst this list of plants: tubular flowers. As I’m one to take a balanced approach to gardening for nature, you’ll see native and cultivated plants on this list and a few notes of observation as well. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but these are six of my favorite plants for attracting hummingbirds. https://lnkd.in/g7qmXJZf

OCTOBER GARDEN REVIEW It’s the first of the month and time for a monthly garden review. If you want a better garden next season, start walking your plantings now. Here’s how to make your observations count: 1. Take notes: What’s thriving? What’s struggling? Write it down. What gets measured gets managed. 2. Look for structure: Identify what stands out during the "off-season" (fall and winter). Pay attention to evergreens, seed heads, or bark textures to anchor your garden when blooms fade. Do you need more of these? 3. Plan for improvements: Did a plant flop? Make a note to prune or stake it next year. Something thriving? Plan to plant more of it. 4. Think ahead: What will your garden look like in winter? Focus on features that add interest when the garden is bare—this is where design magic happens. 5. Six months out: April will be here in 6 months. Begin thinking for spring. Are there seeds that need to be sown? Are there plants to be moved? Don’t wait until spring to make changes. The best garden planning starts now—one walk and one observation at a time. 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌿 Are you ready to elevate your gardening skills?
