Did you know? Between 2016 and 2019, the average number of mentally unhealthy days per month increased in the U.S. from 3.8 to 4.5 days and in Texas from 3.4 to 4.2 days. Mental health is deeply connected to physical health, and poor mental health can significantly decrease the quality of life. In Fort Bend and Montgomery Counties, this issue became more pronounced, with nearly a full-day increase in mentally unhealthy days, while Harris County stayed stable. 💡 It's crucial to understand these trends and their impact. Today is World Mental Health Day, it’s great there is a day to raise awareness, but we should be aware of mental health everyday of the year. We need to look after our own mental health first, we cannot help if we are burnt out or struggling ourselves. Take the time to check in on your family, friend or work colleagues. We all spend time scrolling on social media but cannot find 30 seconds to send a message or call someone. Your call or message could mean the difference to someone taking their own life or not. We need to encourage people to talk and open up by creating a safe space with no judgement. Do not force someone to talk just be there to listen when they are ready and be privileged that they have trusted you enough to open up to you. Come on everyone, pull together, we can all make the world a better place and reduce the suicide rates. The rates are too high and sadly increasing. #suicide #mentalhealth #bethere #goodtotalk
