The Talent Development Think Tank conference advertised itself as the “Least Boring Conference You’ll Attend “, and after experiencing an immersive, out of this world kickoff event I can attest this is a conference unlike anything you’ve typically experienced 🤗 A few takeaways from Day 1: ⭐️as Talent practitioners we are often the ones facilitating the experiences for others. It was really fun to start the day with a simulation game (we were in space and had to save Earth) and be reminded of collaboration practices in action. ⭐️ First Principles Thinking: Matt Gjertsen led us through how to apply this problem solving method and used the example of the Apollo space mission to demonstrate how to think creatively when you can’t use tried and true solutions to a new problem. ⭐️ Measuring Impact on workplace performance: Kevin M. Yates led us through a fun session showing how to connect learning and development requests with business outcomes for a richer impact on performance.
