McKnight's Senior Living covered the scoop on Kendal at Oberlin's recent adoption of "Floor-ence" the robot. "The idea behind the community’s use of the technology is not only to supplement staffing at a time of shortages but also to reduce potential work-related injuries, according to the CCRC. 'The robot certainly won’t replace any jobs,' said Floor-ence’s “boss,” Environmental Operations Manager Crystal Hall. 'However, the housekeeping department does experience staffing shortages, making it difficult to keep up with the floor care needs spanning this large community. So the cleaning robot will be a big help.'"
Kendal at Oberlin has introduced its first energy-efficient cleaning #robot, affectionately named Floorence through a contest. https://lnkd.in/eYSY6QKa

2wInteresting to see Kendal at Oberlin's innovative approach to addressing housekeeping challenges with robotics. The 75% grant funding from Ohio's Bureau of Workers' Compensation suggests a promising intersection of technology adoption and risk reduction. From an insurance perspective, this kind of automation could help address both staffing shortages and workplace injury prevention, potentially leading to reduced claims and better operational efficiency while maintaining service quality.
