I am unashamedly a Liverpool Football Club supporter - have been since I was a kid growing up in Malaysia in the 80's when they were the dominant force in English football. The last few years have been a pleasure (and somewhat frustrating) following their travails on the pitch. They have had their ups and downs - but more ups than downs, to be fair. And, this is due to a large extent to the manager Jurgen Klopp. I've always held a fascination about how a manager of a football team can have such an impact upon a team. These are all professional football players - they've been plying their trade for years at the highest level but a manager can be the catalyst to success. In this clip, Jurgen Klopp reveals his own challenges with 'success'. He is perhaps one of the most highly rated and sought after manager in football today but he talks about #winning and losing. What impresses me is how real he is. He sees losing as something that we learn from and it is more important how we react to losing than winning itself. In business, we are obsessed with winning or achieving #success. But, perhaps we ought to learn that we cannot win all the time and success may be one-off. Perhaps the act of picking ourselves up and going again, the perseverance to continue the fight speaks more about who we are as #leaders. Here's a short clip of a longer interview with Rio Ferdinand.
