What does it take to balance motherhood and leadership? As a mother of two and the founder of Preschool Market, I’ve often grappled with the pressures of excelling in both roles. Recently, I had the privilege of sharing my journey with Alvina Chin on the DADs for Life / MUMs for Life podcast, where we explored what it truly means to balance ambition with meaningful connections. In this episode, we dived into: The challenges of excelling in motherhood and leadership. The importance of learning to lean on others for support. How to redefine success by balancing ambition with connection. ✨ One key takeaway: Creating supportive environments for working mums isn’t just about flexibility—it’s about building meaningful relationships and allowing ourselves the grace to grow. 💬 I’d love to hear from you! What’s one change you think could make workplaces more supportive for working mothers? Let’s start the conversation. 📢 Listen to the full episode in the post below. Let’s champion positive change, one step at a time. 🌟

𝗗&𝗜, 𝗗𝗘𝗜, 𝗗𝗘𝗜𝗕...𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘆𝗺? 🌈 Diversity, equality, inclusion, belonging (and all the other related 'letters' out there). We all know they relate to the important values organizations should strive to embody and promote, to help support people from all different backgrounds and needs. ✨ But the necessary complexity and sensitivity of this topic can make it a little tricky to understand the difference between the individual terms, or exactly why and how we can actually make the necessary changes in practice. 🤷♀️ So while it's obviously not 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 a HR or pride month issue, we thought there was no better time to join the conversation for our next podcast episode. 🎧 This is an extra special one, as we also brought along a 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿! ⭐ See a sneak peek of of our conversation below with the awesome and inspiring Ard-Jan Schinkelshoek. He shares SO many nuggets of wisdom, insights and practical tips on this meaty topic in this episode, alongside our own Paul Butler and Florentine van Lingen. We really can't wait for you to listen to it. 🎉 Full episode drops 𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗧 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞! 💥 Make sure you're following "Have You Got 5 Minutes?" on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or Amazon Music so you can get it when it drops. 🚨🩻A NEW [un]phased unedited podcast episode dropped today (and every Tuesday!) 🚨🩻Episode 171: Disappearing Spines 🍎 Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/etcJfTX2 📺 Youtube: https://lnkd.in/eFH53BUK 🟢 Spotify: https://lnkd.in/e5-MxMBb 💻 Website URL: https://lnkd.in/eJ3qTUXe 🩻 Episode 171: Disappearing Spines 🩻 As the hosts slide to the end of 2024, they are noticing that more and more organizations are losing courage in the face of challenges to DEI work. In this week's episode, Drs Shaunna and Lisa discuss the lack of regard for women's lives, policy rollbacks, and contentious holiday disagreements. 🩻 Word of the Week [1:45]: Mansplaining is a combination of "man" and "explaining". This problematic behavior is condescending on so many levels. 🩻 Phase 1 [5:35]: Home Isn't Always Where the Heart Is: A Recent U.N. report noted that the majority of global femicides (m*rd*r of women) are committed in the home by a husband, partner, or family member. The home, often considered one of the safest spaces for people, is not so for many women around the world. 🩻 Phase 2 [20:00]: Wal-Mart Rollbacks: Usually Wal-Mart rolls back pricing, but in this case, they are rolling back DEI policies and practices. On the heels of the U.S. Presidential Election results, Dr. Shaunna gets into their sweeping changes -- including deprioritizing minority suppliers. 🩻 Phase 3 [32:50]: Home for the Holidays: Over a holiday meal, life, politics, and the state of society are bound to come up. Disagreements are rarely handled well, but a recent NPR podcast on the neuroscience of disagreement provides us all with some advice for those contentious moments. #diversity #equity #inclusion #courage #mansplaining #minoritysupplier #walmart #holiday #disagreement Lisa Ingarfield, Ph.D.

"When you make things accessible, you're giving them choices." - Meryl Evans As we go through life, the reality is that as we age, the likelihood of facing a disability increases. It's a simple fact—whether it's hearing loss, a broken bone, or just getting sick, we all face challenges that can change how we interact with the world. That's why designing with accessibility in mind isn't just about helping others—it's about planning for our future selves. When you create accessible experiences, you're not just accommodating people—you're empowering them with choices. These choices are crucial when someone is dealing with a temporary impairment or just navigating through life's unexpected twists and turns. That's the power of the curb cut effect. Want to dive deeper into how accessibility can transform your brand?
