This was not attempt 304. Despite what Alex Williams ⚡️ says. A couple of weeks back we visited RT Expo to see our clients and also make some new connections. We did the same thing last year. But this year it felt different. And I think I’ve worked out why. Katie Sutton and I have been working really hard on our new business efforts and part of that is about going to meet new people and getting Frank & Friend out there more. Last year we didn’t really have much to say other than “Hello, we run a marketing agency.” And who really cares? Businesses pay a lot of money to exhibit at these events so just walking in cold and trying to sell to them isn’t a good look. But this year we approached new people with something valuable to them. We didn’t mention our services or try and sell ourselves in any way. And we got a better reception. It felt so much easier to start the conversation and both Katie and I had a much higher confidence in what we’re doing. It’s taken some practice to get right but as they say practice makes perfect. And it might sound obvious. But finding the thing that adds value is tricker than it seems. Now, perhaps I should apply that same thought on practice to my football skills? #MarketingAgency #NewBusiness #Practice
