Best-Selling Author of Beyond the Thin Blue Line | CEO of Recruiting Heroes | International Speaker | Professional Resume Writer & Career Transition Coach | 2019 Virginia Deputy Sheriff of the Year
Did you know that the very first and very last sentence of my book are identical? “I have stood on the Thin Blue Line.” My years in law enforcement were some of the best of my life. I had the opportunity to work with incredible people, serve in interesting roles, and make a difference in my community. Receiving two Life Saving Awards, promoting to sergeant, and being named the 2019 Deputy Sheriff of the Year for the entire State of Virginia were definitely the highlights of my time on the Thin Blue Line. I hope to use my experiences in law enforcement and in the recruiting world to helps other LEOs & Veterans finding meaningful careers after their years of service. I think this book can be a fantastic guide for thousands of Heroes around the world. Get your copy today! https://amzn.to/3W4TpHR

Kudos and thanks to all the communciations and command and Control professionals, stakeholders, and vendors who have come together in the wake of Helene to do incredible, hard, and challenging work. This mission will wind down related to Helene, but it will continue in countless other scenarios and in so many other communities and in situations ranging from chemical releases to eathquakes, civil disorder to train accidents. In every one, a team of professionals in Critical Control environments will stand in the breach and work to bring order from chaos. One reason why I am so passionate about our efforts at the International Critical Control Rooms Alliance is because of how important this work is and how powerful bringing these people and their community together can be. #CriticalControlRooms #Collaboration #bestpractices #leadership Criticalcontrol.org
These past couple of weeks have truly humbled me personally and professionally. The North Carolina first responder communications team will have the opportunity to tell our story and I can’t wait to hear it. I can tell you that all of the grinding, long days, sweat equity, meetings, friendships, and disagreements all led us to the day before Helene impacted our friends and family in Western NC. The days following have brought our entire team together to work as one. We have even added some new faces! The days ahead will require more hard work, more long days and more sweat. Our teammates in Western NC deserve nothing less than that. #NoCommsNoBattle Photo: Helene +4 morning briefing notes

Let me share with you two of my most memorable life moments. The first correspondence course I did in the Navy was a course on Customer Service. A Navy Hospital Corpsman skilled in healthcare but reading a topic of which I knew very little about. The book was less than 200 pages with 5 assignments. Fast forward. I was selected to a facilitate a Bureau of Medicine and Surgery Customer Service Course. I will say 20 years Active Duty, 21 years retired. 17 years a Government Civil Servant.10 years as a Health Tech Optometry Tech then 7 years Customer Service Representative. I never forget those events. The thoughts of Customer Service as a seed. A seed to a is a tree bearing fruit. Tell me does the world or business needs another book, another seminar on Customer Service?

How will the world change on May 28? The new Ocean Shipping Reform Act begins to change everything - the Detention and Demurrage Rule tells us how. But not everything is crystal clear, so this year's AGRICULTURE TRANSPORTATION COALITION (AgTC) Annual Meeting will be full of new thoughts, new solutions, new players, new service providers, and new questions for the industry, shipper, FMC decision-makers. www.agtrans.org/events
