🍃#Regeneration has had ‘a moment’ as the buzz word of choice. Yet, beyond agricultural settings, we are not seeing the adoption of #regenerative #business at any impactful scale. 🍃 In times of #transformation, business as usual is risky. Now, faced with uncertainty, is precisely the time to get clear on the opportunity posed by regenerative business. Integrating and embedding regenerative principles into business in an appropriate and practical way has been foundational in our work for the last few years. WE GIVE UP. This 1st Day of Earth Month, in April, we’d be fools not to share this very important, very official announcement. Sorry Mother Earth, but we’re putting away our surfboards and plan on just burying our heads in the sand instead. That feels more comfortable. Forget everything we’ve said about having fun while making waves towards “a world where a healthy environment and business go hand-in-hand, creating a thriving planet for all.” What’s there to be inspired by anymore? Let’s take stock: ✔ Well, there’s SkyNano’s carbon capture and advanced carbon utilization solution that turns emissions into carbon nanotubes, taking carbon out of the atmosphere and storing it permanently. That’s pretty impressive. ✔ There’s also San Diego Food System Alliance improving our food systems for healthier communities and restoring the soil and our relationship with the land, working everyday towards a more equitable and sustainable food system. ✔ Oh, and to figure out how to recycle all the lithium batteries that will be needed to get off of fossil fuels, there’s Nth Cycle who’s developing large-scale battery recycling and mineral reclamation tech. ✔ What about figuring out a better way to move heat around efficiently, whether in a home, or a truck, or industrial plant? Evari's out there developing hyper efficient heat pump microturbines. There are even all these accelerators, incubators, programs and funders like UCLA Anderson Center for Impact, Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI), At One Ventures, Mission Driven Finance™, and New Energy Nexus helping support a network of people working on moving sustainability and climate solutions forward. And 1% for the Planet builds a community of businesses committed to supporting environmental projects around the world.
