Trust isn’t a slogan or a research report. It’s about internal character and tangible action. ➡️ Who you are. ➡️ How you show up personally. ➡️ How you lead others. Grateful to work for Peter Finn at FINN Partners, who models leading with a ‘heart & conscience’ every day, in his work & life. #leadership #leadbyexample #trust #ethicsinbusiness Stephen R. We are living in a time where trust is needed now more than ever. And yet, in the headlines, in our businesses, in our governments and institutions, in our personal lives, we often find the opposite. A crisis of trust. At this week’s World Business Forum, FINN Global CMO Celia Jones made the case for trust as THE mission-critical foundation for business success, in her introduction for keynote speaker Stephen M. R. Covey, renowned author and the world’s leading authority on organizational trust. WOBI #WBFNYC #FEARLESSxFINN #trust

Here's why our systems of governance are stalling, it's called "complexity" A world with more actors that are more interconnected and interdependent creates a lot of good things for us but it also results in the emergence of wicked problems that no one actor can hope to address. Such wicked challenges require whole new ways of thinking and new networks for collaboration. Our paper on governing in an age of complex discusses: https://is.gd/sP0hHn

"Transforming Conflicts into Collaboration" is our theme for the month of November. In an increasingly interconnected world, conflicts—whether rooted in cultural differences, political ideologies, or economic disparities—are a pervasive challenge. Rather than perceiving conflict as an insurmountable obstacle, we can transform it into a powerful opportunity for global collaboration. There are a couple of ways we can ensure this opportunity comes to fruition. Active listening is crucial in this context, particularly when dealing with cross-cultural conflicts. By genuinely engaging with the voices of those affected and emphasising shared human values such as peace, security, and prosperity, we foster an environment of respect and trust-building among people from diverse backgrounds. Meanwhile, focusing on common goals is essential for addressing global issues such as climate change, migration, or public health crises. These challenges transcend national boundaries and require collaborative efforts that harness the strengths of all stakeholders. Identifying mutual interests can help countries and communities move from adversarial stances to cooperative frameworks in the service of the greater good. We'll be thinking a lot about ways to embrace conflict as a catalyst for cooperation this month. And if you're looking for a place to gain a more rigorous and precise understanding of workable solutions for the polarisation we see in our complex world, consider getting on board our upcoming "Essentials of Policy Development" programme: https://lnkd.in/eUeS4jqF

We created the TGS network in 2012 as an alternative to 'business as usual' professional services networks. Aligning with the SDGs allows our member firms to position themselves as forward-thinking, socially responsible organizations. This brings new business opportunities, attracts and retains top talent, drives innovation, improves risk management, and strengthen stakeholders relationships i(n an increasingly sustainability-focused business environment). But...we (all of us, not just TGS) are currently off track to reach the SDGs set by the UN. Audit, accounting, advisory firms are in the best position to drive sustainability and keep their clients accountable. Interesting interview with Tonilyn Lim, Chief, programmes, United Nations Global Compact, talking about the biggest challenges in meeting the 2030 deadline for the SDGs and maintaining a business's commitment to sustainability amidst geopolitical struggles. Even more interesting is going to be the TGS annual conference in Nice because we will be working partly on Inner Development Goals as a way to accelerate our work towards achievement of the Sustainability Development Goals. To eliminate barriers to change, the organisation must first understand them. The process of doing so starts early, when you select your guiding coalition. https://lnkd.in/dHUcQXA
