Brilliant to see more of colleagues on Crescent Radio, this time to raise awareness about people with learning disabilities and who are autistic, the challenges they face and the support and services available to them. Carol, learning disabilities health inequalities lead, discussed barriers in accessing health care and the importance of having annual health checks and screenings. Akum, primary care assistant practitioner and parent carer, touched on her story and why listening to lived experience is vital when making clinical decisions. And Stephen, peer support worker, spoke about his role and the work he's doing in the criminal justice and crown prosecution service to offer additional support and reasonable adjustments.
