One of the greatest perks of community: Shared knowledge and support. Because it’s not just about networking; it’s about growth and connection, too. When I talk to talent development professionals, they bring it up every time. → Building strong relationships. → Gaining insights from peers. Just by being part of a community. And when they talk about the worst parts of working in isolation? Lack of support is ALWAYS at the top of the list. Because, here’s the deal: Community doesn’t just change WHO you know. It changes how you GROW. More collaboration, less isolation. That’s the *real* value. And that’s why more professionals NEED to embrace it. Don't miss out on this opportunity to advance your career with the support of our thriving community. 🔗 https://tdtt.us/community/ 👉 P.S. Right now we are offering a 14-day trial for you to try out the community absolutely free! #TalentDevelopment #Networking #TalentDevelopmentCommunity #community

The secret behind retaining top talent isn't just about offering more money. In today's fast-paced world, employees are looking for organizations that can provide more than just a paycheck. They seek meaningful work, opportunities for growth, recognition, and a culture that supports their well-being. So how do you create an environment that meets these needs? 1. Invest in professional development: Employees want to feel like they're growing and progressing in their careers. 2. Recognize achievements: A simple 'thank you' goes a long way. Public recognition can boost morale even further. 3. Prioritize well-being: From mental health days to flexible working arrangements, show your team that their health is important. At the end of the day, it's not just about filling positions; it's about building a community where everyone feels valued and motivated to contribute their best work.

People don’t always engage in conversations about inclusive employment, and it’s not because they don’t care. Often, it’s due to fears of saying the wrong thing, feeling uncomfortable, or not knowing where to start. Acknowledging these barriers is the first step toward creating safer, more inclusive spaces for everyone to learn and grow. Join us and other local employers on October 24 to learn more about the inclusive hiring movement. Register and find more details at the link below. https://lnkd.in/gpeJZCjv

Remember the sense of camaraderie from athletic teams or volunteer groups in school? That same feeling of connection is possible in the workplace through Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). These voluntary, employee-led groups foster a sense of belonging, providing a smaller community within large organizations where employees can share experiences, discuss ideas, and offer fresh perspectives. ERGs are organized around shared identities or interests—whether by gender, ethnicity, age, religion, lifestyle, or professional aspirations. They create environments where new hires can connect with seasoned mentors, spark new ideas, and improve workplace satisfaction. Many Louisiana companies, large and small, offer ERGs. Entergy was recognized nationally in 2023, placing fifth in the prestigious Diversity Impact Awards for its outstanding ERGs. ExxonMobil, one of the state’s largest employers, supports six well-established affinity groups, including WIN (Women’s Interest Network) and BEST (Black Employee Success Team). Amazon, with multiple facilities in Louisiana, boasts 13 global affinity groups, connecting employees across regions and supporting veterans, individuals with disabilities, and indigenous peoples. According to McKinsey & Company’s 2022 report, ERGs have been shaping workplaces for over 50 years. The first official ERG, Xerox’s National Black Employees Caucus, was founded in 1970, and today, 90% of Fortune 500 companies have followed suit, recognizing the essential role ERGs play in fostering inclusion and driving innovation. ERGs provide a relaxed setting for employees to share ideas and experiences with like-minded individuals. This leads to meaningful conversations that enhance trust and workplace satisfaction. In today’s hybrid and remote work environments, it can be challenging to feel connected. ERGs bring employees together—whether through virtual meetups or face-to-face lunches—strengthening relationships across teams. ERGs are an excellent resource for mentorship and career growth. Use these groups to inquire about training, development opportunities, and showcase your interest in advancing within the company. ERGs are a fertile ground for brainstorming new ideas. Whether it’s proposing an event or suggesting process improvements, these groups provide a platform for innovation that can energize the entire company. ERGs help new employees feel at ease, offering a welcoming community that increases retention and boosts overall productivity. The Takeaway: ERGs and EAGs are key drivers of inclusion, professional development, and innovation in the workplace. By fostering connection and cultivating community, they create spaces for employees to thrive—benefiting individuals, teams, and the company as a whole.
