Listen like a parrot (the good kind): Repeat key points back to them. It shows you're listening (even if they're talking about building a time machine). 3. Offer silly solutions (with a smile): Client wants a purple polka-dotted website? Suggest polka-dotted delivery pigeons too! (Don't worry, you'll talk about practicality later.) 4. Not all distractions are bad—especially for me and my neurodivergent friends. Taking time between meetings to walk around the office, stare out the window, or even pet your dog can be a great way to reset and recharge. Personally, in between sessions, I often walk around my apartment and check in with my wife, who also works from home. I’m not sure how much she loves the distraction 😅, but it’s a chance to get my mind off work. This kind of “distraction” helps me get ready for my next session feeling refreshed and focused. But, there’s a catch. It’s easy to lose track of time. A quick chat can turn into a 30-minute conversation. For me, alarms or Google Calendar reminders are a lifesaver—they help me snap back to work mode. What about you? How do you manage healthy distractions and keep yourself on track?
