Recent estimates indicate that the impact of unsafe food costs low- and middle-income economies around US$ 95 billion in lost productivity each year(UN). Unsafe food containing harmful bacteria, viruses, parasites, or chemical substances causes more than 200 diseases. (United Nations) Topian’s commitment to food safety is at the heart of our organization. As we start to engage with suppliers we demand adherence to the most stringent independent food safety certification systems; moreover, we are working towards (near) real data assessment to better mitigate risks in supply chains. Our goal is to harness cutting edge technology, artificial intelligence, and industry-leading standards to assure the highest levels of food safety in our operations. Everyone involved at the various stages has a responsibility to keep food safe. Join our mission, let’s work together for safe food and good health. #NEOM #Topian #foodsafety

❓ What factors are considered most critical when setting maximum levels (MLs) for contaminants in your food products? And how are these levels aligned with public health safety? Contaminants are closely regulated to protect public health. In the EU, stringent legislation ensures that the food we consume is free from harmful levels of contaminants. This involves setting maximum levels based on: 📊 Toxicological evidence 🌿 Occurence data 🏭 Good practices in manufacturing and agriculture The focus is on substances with high toxicity or prevalence in the food chain. Levels are set based on advice from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). To understand the procedures on legislation for food contaminants, join us at our seminar on June 20th, where Christine Vinkx will provide detailed insights! 🌿www.primorisevent.be #QualityAssurance #FoodSafety #PublicHealth #Regulations #Contaminants #Seminar
