I don't usually post anything personal on LinkedIn, but this one is a must. The Munich European Forum e.V., our team and the association's purpose mean a lot. We’ve started a crowdfunding campaign to preserve this non-profit association for future generations. For those who don’t know it yet: We organize an annual political simulation for young people around the world, giving them the chance to step into the shoes of a real-world politician in #NATO’s North Atlantic Council, the #G20 Leader’s Summit, and #EU’s Foreign Affairs Council. What sets this conference apart from all the other simulations out there? With our three committees, we cover the most important international decision-making bodies, and we add a glimpse of reality through both a media and advocacy committee, holding our politicians accountable toward the public. I've been involved with the association for over seven years, during the most character-defining time of my life. What I've learned here has had a lasting impact on how I view the world and my role in it. I wish this experience to every young person out there. Our purpose of political education becomes more and more important with every year, with every geopolitical shift, with every millimeter that the divisive forces in our society advance. As we navigate an ever-evolving landscape, partnerships have become pivotal in driving significant change. This was highlighted in this insightful article on Civil Society for which I, among other colleagues in the sector, was interviewed and where I share my reflections. Gone are the days when partnerships were mere financial transactions. Today, they are about shared missions and mutual benefits - extending beyond mere financial gains to foster real societal impact. Strategic alliances showcase how deeply intertwined success is with aligning values and objectives between sectors. When organisations choose partners whose missions resonate with their own, they unlock incredible potential. Such collaborations not only amplify their impact but also ensure sustainability and adaptability amidst economic challenges. As we continue to face global challenges, from economic pressures to social disparities, the necessity for robust partnerships becomes even more apparent. For us at Macmillan Cancer Support it is about doing more with less, leveraging combined strengths to tackle complex issues that neither partner could address alone and partnerships will be key to our successful transformation. Philea - Philanthropy Europe Association is one of those rare organizations that have set themselves a courageous goal: to truly move our sector of #philanthropy to the next level, to nudge us forward, out of our comfort zones, into the unknown, to embrace what it means to contribute to our world's problems in a way that matches the challenge. Philanthropy has a unique role in our world: it can fund what cannot be funded. It can make impossible things possible. It can raise our aspirations and change mindsets. For that to happen it also has to ask itself some tough questions: - Are we being courageous enough? - Is how we are spending our money fit for purpose?- Are we truly rising to the challenges? - Are we doing all we can? - Are we doing all we must do? And what does that mean for our relationship with #trust in this world, with our partners, with those we serve? With so much interest in fundraising from Asia, we have been eagerly reading the newly published Doing Good Index 2024. This report offers a fascinating deep-dive into digital technology, funding landscapes, regulatory challenges, and the essential role of trust and governance within Social Delivery Organizations (SDOs) in Asia.
