The future of mobility lies in our ability to integrate digitalization, decarbonization, and social inclusivity into a seamless, resilient system." – Dr. Kaan Yıldızgöz At our recent CEO Roundtables at InnoTrans 2024, we had insightful discussions with leaders from Renfe, Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB), SBS Transit Ltd, and Modaxo, who shared their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing the mobility industry. Paloma Baena Olabe from Renfe highlighted the critical role of technology: "As Europe’s second-largest high-speed rail network, Renfe is committed to using technology and innovation to not only enhance passenger experience but to drive decarbonization and build a greener future for transportation." Xavier Flores from Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) reminded us that, "The real challenge of digital and ecological transformation isn’t just the tech—it’s cultural. It’s not about learning new tools; it’s about unlearning old ways to adapt to the incredible challenges ahead." Jeffrey Sim of SBS Transit Ltd spoke about the importance of inclusivity: "Sustainability in public transport isn’t just about reducing emissions; it’s about creating inclusive systems that serve all members of society. At SBS Transit Ltd, we are proud to make public transport more accessible and community-driven." Laurent Eskenazi of Modaxo added, "We’re at a crossroads in mobility. It’s not just about implementing new technologies like AI—it’s about balancing governance and innovation to create lasting impact." These conversations underscored the importance of a holistic approach to mobility—one that balances technology, sustainability, and inclusion. Excited to be part of a future that is as innovative as it is people-focused. #InnoTrans2024 #MobilityInnovation #SustainableTransport #DigitalTransformation #Modaxo

I’m thrilled to be in Berlin for InnoTrans 2024, and I couldn’t help but marvel at the city’s impressive public transport network. The marvel is certainly enhanced when exploring the U-Bahn in an open tray. it's an impressive mix of modalities, and active transport options. Some key features and facts that make Berlin’s transport system stand out: U-Bahn (Subway) Established: 1902 Lines: 10 Stations: 173 Total Length: 146 kilometers S-Bahn (Urban Railway) Established: 1924 Lines: 15 Stations: 166 Total Length: 340 kilometers Tram & Metrotram Established: 1865 (Horse-drawn), 1881 (Electric) Lines: 22 (9 Metrotram, 13 Tram) Total Length: 194 kilometers Ferry Lines Established: 1896 Lines: 6 (e.g., F10: Wannsee ↔ Alt-Kladow, F11: Wilhelmstrand ↔ Baumschulenstraße) Unique Feature: Some ferries are rowboats, offering a charming way to cross the waterways. Berlin’s public transport system is not only extensive but also a testament to the city’s commitment to connectivity and sustainability. Whether you’re commuting daily or exploring the city as a visitor like me for InnoTrans, Berlin’s transport network ensures a smooth and efficient journey. #InnoTrans2024 #Berlin #PublicTransport #Sustainability #humanfactors #systemsafety #rail #humanengineering #ergonomics #safety

We talk a lot about making transportation greener, mainly for planes and boats. Even though, #train is already the most ecological transportation mode (after walking and cycling, from what eurosat says at the end of every journey 😂) but still needs to be even more efficient. I am sharing this very instructive article. #railway #engineering #innovation #mobility
With urban populations growing from 751 million in 1950 to over 8 billion in 2023, the need for efficient transport has never been greater! 🌍 This rapid urbanisation requires significant investment in public transport infrastructure to deliver faster, and more reliable intra-urban and inter-city services. 🏙️ The challenge? For engineers, it lies in designing systems capable of handling increased passenger demand while ensuring safety and service excellence. 📍 Meet us at Innotrans 2024, the world’s leading trade fair for transport technology, showcasing innovations in rail transport, infrastructure, public transit, and mobility solutions: https://bit.ly/3ZAY2eW ▶️ Learn more with Maxime LEFORT interview: https://bit.ly/4gwEQoH #Railway #Future #Digitalisation #Innovation #RailwayInsight #TeamALTEN

The unthinkable will happen in #Strasbourg! Anyone who knows the #mobility industry – and the automotive industry, local transport and the bicycle industry are no different in this respect – knows that unfortunately, by 2024, no significant increase in the diversity rate has been achieved in these areas. And more women, especially in positions of responsibility, is only the first step. Could that also be a reason for the shortage of skilled workers? We will discuss this! And if you would like to join us, you will find a link in the comment for free entry plus status as a VIP (visitor). About the panel: Annika Egloff-Schoenen, Nahverkehrpraxis Cornelia Nussbaumer, Wiener Linien Caroline Gonin, Transdev Marie-Ange Debon, Keolis Group About the conference: The European Mobility Expo (also known as EuMo Expo) will be taking place at the Parc des Expositions exhibition centre in Strasbourg from 1 to 3 October 2024 with a very special edition. The exhibition is aimed at sustainable mobility professionals and brings together around 11,000 participants from across Europe, including selected representatives and decision-makers from local authorities, operating companies, entrepreneurs and many more. The aim is to learn about innovations, share expertise and exchange information in a professional and relaxed atmosphere. 250 French and international exhibitors are expected, e. g. Autobus, Daimler-Mercedes-Benz, Ebusco, Keolis, Le train, Otokar, Solaris, SNCF, Transdev. Vienna and its public transport operator Wiener Linien will be the guests of honour at the 2024 edition of the exhibition. "Vienna is positioning itself as a pioneering city in the field of sustainable mobility. The comprehensive redesign of the public transport system in recent decades, the promotion of bicycle and pedestrian traffic, and investment in innovative solutions have created a future-oriented mobility system in Vienna and increased the ‘modal split’. In the coming years, the city of Vienna wants to go even further and be CO2-neutral by 2040." Yana Köpke Eva Passmann Laurent Boltz

"Hamburg shows: ridepooling can enhance the overall public transport system by adding a component that makes it more attractive.” MOIA Director of Business Development Rainer Becker discussed with Martin Bill, Staatsrat BVM Hamburg, Raimund Brodehl, Managing Director hvv, and Cornelius Kiermasch, Head of Shared Mobility at Deutsche Bahn Connect, on the topic of ‘Best practices from Hamburg: Integrated everyday mobility – the plans of the city of Hamburg' at the international trade fair for transport technology InnoTrans. Here are three takeaways: ➡️ Ridepooling can be an addition to the public transit network that encourages more people to join the overall system as it adds a component of comfort, convenience, and safety. ➡️ The public transport system can only be successful in jointly addressing mobility needs. ➡️ Digitization of the overall system is needed to make it easy to use and will be the key for more people to use public transport in their daily life. #InnoTrans2024

At Innotrans this year this technology shall count amongst a major find as on NF Railway where already a no of rail tunnels are constructed or being constructed in hostile terrains and many of these were constructed prior to the policy modification to build BLT in longer tunnels after I took over as GM there and emphasised for the same with railway board. But what to do in the tunnels (with ballasted track and water deposit they’re affecting safety) which were already built and already had train operations plus need for other strategic requirement which may need fixture less track structure. And here it was this technology from Edilon)(Sedra a world leader in building ERS/ EBS in such circumstances without the need to block rail traffic for months together. A must adopt technology on Indian Railways #indianrailways #nfr

#Innotrans2024 Connections, exchanges, and collaboration were the defining themes of our second day at InnoTrans! The morning kicked off with an insightful conference on CSR and the decarbonization of the railway industry, hosted by Jean de la Chapelle, Patrick Jeantet, Bertrand Gryspeert, and Nicolas GROULT. Presentation key takeaways: 💡 CSR is a strategic imperative for the railway sector, driven by its three ESG pillars: Environment, Social, and Governance. These dimensions are critical to meeting evolving European regulations and the growing expectations of stakeholders. 💡 Collaboration and standardization of CSR frameworks are essential, especially to support small and medium-sized enterprises in adapting to these challenges. 💡 To succeed collectively, the industry must unite under the leadership of the FIF, positioning railway as the most sustainable mode of transportation. In the afternoon, Pascal Lullier and Christophe Chassagnette showcased some of our major projects, illustrating our strength as a systems integrator, capable of managing every aspect of infrastructure—using the Manila Metro as an example of our expertise. We wrapped up the day with a client event, where our collaborators and clients mingled over a lively cocktail party, celebrating the successes of the day. 🎉 #ColasRail #Berlin #Fair #Railway #OnTrackForASustainableFuture #CSR
