A little history on this simple LunchBox component - when I was a designer, I would often work on projects that had both 2D and 3D NURBS curves as the building blocks for architectural geometry (think landscape pathways or structural systems). These needed to be broken down into discrete parts that could be easily dimensioned and fabricated. I worked out this simple component for breaking down complex curves into arcs that connected end-to-end on tangents. I would use this component to derive arc-based curve segments that closely approximated the original NURBS - simple but effective! #geometry #nurbs #rhino #grasshopper #computationaldesign
Freeform modeling tools like Rhino and Grasshopper make it easy for designers to explore irregular, curvilinear design concepts. As the design process moves toward later phases of a project, it can be a challenge to rationalize complex curves while maintaining the desired appearance. An under-the-radar LunchBox component called “ArcDivide” can simplify and streamline the rationalization process. https://buff.ly/3Pgr10I #Rhino3d #grasshopper #parametricdesign #BIM

Using Tekla Structures, Rhino, and Grasshopper to optimize the design and placement of pre-engineered building skeleton members. By harnessing the capabilities of these industry-leading tools, we can iterate on various span, width, and length configurations to achieve the most effective way. This approach allows to explore design alternatives, analyze performance and make data-driven decisions, ensuring that each pre-engineered building project is tailored to meet the unique requirements of the design aspect. #BIM #TeklaStructures #Rhino #Grasshopper #PreEngineeredBuilding #StructuralDesign #DigitalFabrication" #PEB #Steelstructures

Attention all #Revit and #Tekla Structures users! 📢🚨❗ The days of creating two separate models for #BIM and #FEM are over! Now, we can generate a single master model in #Grasshopper and then get two distinct models from it: one for analysis and the other for BIM. Although they will differ due to simplifications, they will remain linked to the master model, ensuring that key parameters are maintained and can be modified at any time, with changes affecting both models. Are you interested in learning Grasshopper without any prior programming experience and integrating your #BIM model with various analysis software? Recruitment for the Grasshopper Fundamentals Training begins soon. Trusted by over 700 engineers who have already taken the first step towards becoming Engineer 4.0. Start your journey with Grasshopper from the basics 🦗--> https://lnkd.in/d3zCYzx2 P.S. For Tekla users, we have prepared advanced training. Parametric structural design with Tekla Structures and Grasshopper
Algorithmic modeling and design for Tekla Structures using Grasshopper ⤵ In this case, our team used an algorithm (Grasshopper parametric design) which, based on the initial data, models the required number of spans for a given bridge width, with the ability to modify the cross-section of the supporting elements and fill the space between them. #tekla #teklastructures #design #parametricdesign #grasshopper #teklaapi #development #automation #structuraldesign #bridge #beam #concrete #precast #precastbeam #pmtech #api #bim #coordination #rhino

Is it the best way for non-Grasshopper users to play with #ParametricDesign? ShapeDiver, the online platform for sharing Grasshopper designs - we are still impressed with how many possibilities it gives to the Engineers. ✔️Transformation of parametric models into a user-friendly interface. ✔️Allowing non-technical stakeholders to participate in the product design process. ✔️Enhancing interoperability between CAD and design environments. Check out the article and YouTube video of Krzysztof Wojslaw on BIM Corner, where you can find engineering examples of a parametric steel frame 🏟️ and tower building 🗼 placed on the ShapeDiver 📑 The article: https://lnkd.in/dVQRzPi4 YouTube Video: https://lnkd.in/dHXj66Uy Feel free to comment below with your thought about the future of 3D product configurators in the #AEC industry. #Engineering #Rhino3D #computationaldesign
