Flow-mediated dilation (FMD) evaluates endothelial function at the conduit (brachial) artery level, whereas methodologies that focus on the microvascular level including peripheral arterial tonometry (PAT) and the presented data on microvascular (endothelial) dysfunction have been made available. In both methods, the endothelial function measurement is performed following a brief period of interrupting blood flow causing ischemia. Live case with Erin Murphy, MD, FACS on Thermal/Non-thermal Superficial Treatment from Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute. Moderated by Stephen Black and panelists Kush Desai, Marie Josee van Rijn & Nicos Labropoulos. There is a focus on the accommodation of a healthy vein during the procedure, emphasising the importance of ensuring the vein remains unjailed, especially at the stent edges. There are discussions about the confluence at the stent edge and ensuring that it is clear. The procedure involves pulling back in the IVC (inferior vena cava) and ensuring no lesions are present. Visual confirmation of the success of the procedure is a crucial aspect, with imaging used to assess the vein and stent positioning. They mention retrieving Ivis (Intravascular ultrasound) measurements to further validate the process. The team seems satisfied with the results, noting that the bottom part of the treatment looks good. #viocongress #vascular #venous

#1 Image talks 🧡 75 y/o patient underwent percutaneous coronary angioplasty to mid & proximal RCA in 2013.He was taken up for Coronary Angiogram (CAG) in view of Complete Heart Block and showed Triple vessel disease (TVD) . Optical Coherence Tomography in the Right Coronary Artery revealed that the old stents implanted( 3*12,3.5*12) in the mid section seems to have been overlapped. However, the keen evaluation with 3D navigation view of OCT confirmed that the stents are not overlapped .
