Airbound Secures $1.7M in Seed Funding to Revolutionize Drone Delivery Airbound, a pioneering startup in drone technology, has raised $1.7 million in a seed round led by Lightspeed with contributions from gradCapital and prominent angel investors. This funding empowers Airbound to enhance its R&D focus on medical deliveries, starting with the transport of blood samples from healthcare centers to labs. With successful scaling, Airbound plans to enter other areas like food and grocery delivery to optimize logistics costs and boost profitability. “Airbound’s innovation goes beyond building a state-of-the-art delivery drone. We’ve developed a highly efficient, scalable manufacturing process,” said Naman Pushp, Founder & CEO of Airbound. “Our goal isn’t just to create advanced drones—we envision a future where delivery is nearly cost-free.” Airbound’s groundbreaking TRT design, a blended wing body tailsitter, minimizes delivery costs and enhances safety and efficiency. With proprietary carbon fiber manufacturing, the team has slashed their drone's weight from 6 pounds to just 400 grams—making it over three times lighter and four times more aerodynamically efficient than conventional models. Gurugram-based defense robotics startup, Sharang Shakti, has successfully completed a pre-seed funding round, raising Rs 5 crore. The round was jointly led by AUM Ventures (AUM Ventures) and Venture Highway, with participation from the JK Group's Family Office and various angel investors.
