At the just concluded Shekinah Hour Youth Leadership Conference, apart from educating our attendees, some youths were recognized and guest speakers awarded in appreciation of their performance during the conference. It was emphasized that self-leadership is the first step in any leadership endavour because the ability to lead yourself will determine how you will lead others. Leadership is not by position nor tittle. Leadership is taking the lead while others follow. Leadership is not talking but taking the action required. Leadership is influence nothing more nothing less according to John C Maxwell. The influence must be a positive one, not the negative type! How #inspiring is … When a manager serves as a role #model, it can be profoundly inspiring and #transformative for their #team. A manager who models desired behaviors sets a #highstandard for others to #follow. Their actions speak louder than words, showing employees the way to act, work, and interact, which fosters a culture of #accountability and #excellence. When managers demonstrate #integrity, #empathy, and #professionalism, employees tend to #trust and #respect them more. Trust is the foundation of #effectiveleadership, and when employees respect their leader, they are more likely to go the extra mile. A manager who constantly learns and adapts #encourages their team to do the same. When employees see their manager embracing #challenges and personal development, it motivates them to push beyond their #comfortzones and grow in their roles. A manager who models #positiveattitudes and #resilience, even during tough times, helps maintain a #healthy, #motivating environment. This leads to #highermorale, #engagement, and #jobsatisfaction. Managers who embody #strongvalues like #collaboration, #opencommunication, and #inclusiveness create a #senseofunity within their teams. #leadership #modeling #buildingtrust #credibility #christianshelton

The Tällberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Prizes award leaders who: are innovative, courageous, dynamic, ethical and who understand global challenges require global solutions; seize the moment instead of waiting for politicians to stop squabbling and act; recognize that borders and barriers—whether physical or cognitive—are inimical to addressing, never mind overcoming, today’s challenges; reject the lengthening list of “isms”—nationalism, exceptionalism, racism, wokeism, the list goes on—that substitute for thought today. Leaders from any discipline and any part of the world who meet the Prize’s core criteria are eligible. Three $50,000 Prizes will be awarded. Winners join an influential network of global leaders dedicated to seeking the kinds of positive change our societies demand. https://lnkd.in/d4gYDxtS

Ageism in educational leadership is a significant problem that impacts the advancement of education and stifles fresh ideas. Many emerging leaders are sidelined due to their age, resulting in a lack of development of eldership. It is crucial that we address this bias and work towards creating a more inclusive environment for leaders of all ages.

Isn't it time we developed... development leadership? In our latest piece on The AIDN Beat, Dr Denisse Rodríguez, Dr Jaco Renken, Dr Matthew Mabefam, PhD and Dr Natalie Cunningham highlight how in a period of increasing complexity and challenge for international development, collaborative and critical leadership has never been more important to both navigate practical and ethical issues, and influence organisational decision making. The expert guest contributors highlight purposeful leadership education in international development, such as the University of Melbourne and The University of Manchester's “Master of Leadership for Development”, moving forward. We believe: 1. Everyone possesses innate leadership qualities and strengths; 2. The capacity to serve as a leader is not dependent on a title or position; 3. Transformational leaders develop themselves and lift those around them with intention; 4. Change for the greater good is inspired by connection, collaboration, and contribution; 5. When voices are shared and heard, communities thrive.
