Trauma Informed Perspectives’ Post

The little boy, who had overcome so much already, was wearing the dragon suit his uncle got him for Christmas. He was attacking the little Christmas village, as dragons do. The attack was a bit too much, he was going to break something. This little boy needed to know what he should do, not what he shouldn't. Instead of telling him to stop, he was gently turned, and told to be a dragon that way. So many times we tell kids what not to do. Often, they need to know what to do instead.
