Lakes are dry and fields are scorched by heat in #Sicily, but water is still gushing copiously for tourists. After an almost totally rain-free year on the Italian island, fountains inside Agrigento’s famous archaeological park are still flowing, and pools in rows of hotels are full. Like many #Mediterraneanislands, people in Sicily are used to long spells without rain, but human-caused #climatechange has made weather more erratic, and droughts can be longer and more frequent. Islanders are surviving as they have for decades – they store as much as they can in cisterns and use tankers to deliver water – and do it so well visitors that don’t feel the difference. But this year, the drought has gotten so bad that it’s putting residents at even greater risk, even as water still flows to hotels and tourist sites. https://lnkd.in/dsUJMS9b #tourism #Tourisminsights #pakistan #tourismindustry #AtharJ #ecotourism #sustainabletourism #sustainability #sustainabledevelopment #tourismmarketing #60seconds

Mammoth Lakes Tourism came to Wander with a vision for a map that solved 3 specific visitor questions and apprehensions: 𝟭. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀? - sounds obvious, but most destination websites don’t answer this question. 𝟮. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀? - again, many destination websites are forcing their visitors to leave their site to find this information. 𝟯. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲/𝗳𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀? - answering this questions is one of the easiest ways to remove visitor apprehensions in the lower funnel. We had a great time collaborating with Samantha Lindberg to bring this vision to life on this custom map project. 👀 Destinations wanting the most cutting edge map experiences on their website and in their visitors hands are choosing Wander. #tourismmarketing #destinationmarketing #wandermaps

A recent survey of #American travelers found that the majority act out of character while on #vacation. Radical Storage, a global luggage storage network, released a survey of 1,231 U.S. travelers in October. The results found that 56.5% experience “tourist #syndrome,” which was described as “the greater inclination to misbehave or be rude on vacation.” The survey’s other findings detailed the types of #bad and questionable #behavior displayed while vacationing. Surprisingly, 42.5% admitted to breaking the law while on a trip. Moreover, nearly one-third (32.3%) say they’ve inappropriately posed with a statue while away. Additionally, 59.6% of Americans said they tip their standard amount or less while on vacation. https://lnkd.in/ddCKVFCN #tourism #Tourisminsights #pakistan #tourismindustry #AtharJ #ecotourism #sustainabletourism #sustainability #sustainabledevelopment #tourismmarketing #60seconds

It's no secret this summer has been extremely #hot. Now, experts say that heat is changing the way we #vacation. In the past, people would plan vacations around scenic destinations and relaxation. But now, more people are booking trips to beat the heat. Many people are heading to Florida to escape the #winter chill. But as temperatures skyrocket in the northeast this summer, more tourists are headed south in the summer as well, in search of beaches and pools. Florida in particular is seeing a boom in visitors from the northeast and Texas, according to an NBC News report. Some cities are seeing reservations skyrocket by 45%. https://lnkd.in/dfyTUJDq #tourism #Tourisminsights #pakistan #tourismindustry #AtharJ #ecotourism #sustainabletourism #sustainability #sustainabledevelopment #tourismmarketing #60seconds #TourismDay #WorldTourismDay #tourismandpeace

Time to explore other non descript tourist destinations and promote domestic circuits. Each & every place has its own carrying capacity and going beyond it shall result in nuisance value for its natural scape & people. End of the day every economic activity has to run sustainable to be relevant long run. #tourism #sustainable #carryingcapacity

#Women are increasingly planning leisure #trips just for themselves. Nearly 40% of #female travelers voiced interest in setting out #solo in 2025, the tourism market research firm Future Partners found in a recent survey — up 8 percentage points from a year earlier. While men are more likely to travel alone for leisure, women’s appetite for independent adventures is rising, and travel operators are working to cater to them. After launching “Women in the Wild” small-group nature journeys in 2023, Natural Habitat Adventures boosted its capacity by 75% over the last year and plans to double it for 2025. The Boulder, Colorado-based company, which partners with the World Wildlife Fund on conservation-driven tourism, said it has seen especially strong demand among older women. https://lnkd.in/duP8rK6u #tourism #Tourisminsights #pakistan #tourismindustry #AtharJ #ecotourism #sustainabletourism #sustainability #sustainabledevelopment #tourismmarketing #60seconds
