🌟 Rest. Recover. Recalibrate: Nick Koulchar 🌟 Nick’s journey began with a simple yet profound decision: to find purpose and serve. As a combat engineer and gunner, Nick’s mission was clear—protect his team by clearing routes of IEDs. But in 2008, his life changed forever when his vehicle was struck. Nick lost both legs in the explosion, but not his drive or resolve. This weekend, we’re going to race across more than 200 miles through 15 towns on Cape Cod with up to 20-pounds on our backs… Sure, it SUCKS, but do you know what SUCKS even more? It SUCKS to lose someone you love because there were no programs or services available for veterans, who suffered silently after active duty. According to recent surveys, almost 44 veterans kill themselves each day – and that’s 44 veterans a day way too many. The unintended consequences cut deep, reach far and last forever. No one should ever have to experience it, but, unfortunately, many do. How can we help? We can support AMAZING organizations, like HEROES IN TRANSITION INC , that offer unique programs and services to build stronger relationships and better communities for veterans, active service members and their families. ***So, you may be thinking… If it SUCKS, then why do we do it? Simple. WE DO IT – and will continue to do it – FOR THOSE WHO CAN’T.*** Please consider supporting the cause. #HeroesInTransition #Ruck4HIT #4ThoseWhoCant https://lnkd.in/eUr-hxWc

Why does Team Leadville exist? Simple: I got tired of of losing veterans I knew to military suicide. I got tired of waiting for government agencies to do better. I got tired of lame excuses. I got tired of social media posts showing pushups but not doing anything of value. And I wanted like-minded, driven people to join our mission to Stop Veteran Suicide, fueled by Endurance, Teamwork and Grit. I wanted “ALL IN”—and in our 10th year, we have built exactly that culture. I work full time, have a family, and am an endurance athlete…but this is important enough to MAKE THE TIME. If not us, then who? We are not a nonprofit by design—there are too many with limited success. So we found those who are fiscally responsible and have a proven track record of truly assisting veterans and giving them a second chance on life—-that is who Team Leadville supports. Since 2015 Team Leadville has now raised over $500,000 and saved over 250 lives. With 2 weeks to go in our 2024 Campaign we are climbing to our goal of $100,000 and save 50 more Patriots…join us: https://lnkd.in/g5eSSAZe That’s my “why” in this fight…

As we’ve just celebrated Veterans Day, I want to take a moment to recognize not only the strength and dedication of our nation’s finest but also the hard work and heart behind every Veteran Service Organization (VSO) leader out there. This time of year, I know the weight of all that’s on your plate—from the essential services you provide to the many tasks that keep your organization moving forward. If your VSO is anything like those I’ve been a part of, you may be feeling the year-end crunch. At VetREC, we understand the passion you have for serving Veterans, service members, and their families. That’s why we’re here to help take some of that load off so you can focus on what you love—making a real difference in their lives. Whether you need a hand with your annual report, a deep dive into your data to craft a compelling narrative for your next funding campaign, or simply someone to help bring clarity and structure to your impact stories, we’d love to support you. No project is too big or too small. Take a look at some of our newest offerings and see how we can partner together: https://lnkd.in/eFFW45W7 Let’s keep lifting each other up and making the strongest impact we can. #VetREC #VeteranSupport #VSO #CommunityImpact #VeteransDay #NonprofitSupport

Happy Warrior Wednesday, everyone! As we move through Military Appreciation Month, it’s the perfect time to truly reflect on and celebrate the incredible dedication and bravery of our service members and their families. This month isn’t just about recognition; it’s a heartfelt thank you to those who have given so much to ensure our freedoms. Why Military Appreciation Month Matters: 1. Honor the Sacrifices: From the long deployments to the missed family moments, our troops make countless sacrifices. This month, we’re taking extra time to acknowledge and thank them for these selfless acts. 2. Support for Military Families: Behind every service member is a family that serves in their own way. Let’s make sure we’re also supporting the spouses and kids who keep things running at home. 3. Get Involved Locally: Check out the parades, memorial services, and community events happening this month. Whether you’re attending or volunteering, it’s a great way to show your support. 4. Educate and Share Stories: Use this month as a chance to spread the word about the military’s vital role and the personal stories of those who serve. Whether it’s through social media or in conversations at school or work, every story told is another layer of appreciation. 5. Shop Military-Owned Businesses: Let’s give back by supporting businesses run by veterans and military spouses. It’s a small way to uplift those who’ve already given so much. A Personal Note from Next Move Military: Here at Next Move Military, our commitment to supporting military members extends far beyond just this month. We’re here all year round, helping military families find, settle into their new homes and integrate into their communities, making transitions as smooth as possible. This Military Appreciation Month, let’s make a real effort to show our gratitude. Reach out to someone you know who serves or has served, and simply say thank you. It’s a small gesture that can make a big impact.

TAKE REAL LIFE SERIOUSLY, NOT SOCIAL MEDIA Three days after my birthday, Detroit hosted the Ford Fireworks. I almost ran 10 miles that night from Hart Plaza to Belle Isle, then ran back to the City. As I ran, I couldn't help reminiscing about the impact The Stephen Hooper Corporation has silently made in Metro Detroit including the University of Michigan. The mission is structured into 2 parts: transactional and philanthropic. Basically, it helps men become better leaders through intense exercise. It helps women reduce stress and body fat percentages. Lastly, it helps kids maximize their own self-esteem through sports performance enhancement.FINALLY, it has partnered with groups to help homeless veterans through powerful military organizations. The primary purpose is to help these veterans be FISCALLY responsible without resorting to drugs through post-traumatic stress. It also helps kids be EMOTIONALLY stable with strategic alliances. The primary purpose is to help children become resistant to developing SUICIDAL tendencies from excessive BULLYING and unresolved trauma.Listed below are the groups the Corporation sponsors:https://lnkd.in/g5Ze85zP

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” - Viktor E. Frankl As the founder of Second Responder, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting first responders and veterans, I find immense inspiration in this powerful quote. Our heroes face unimaginable challenges, yet they retain the freedom to shape their mindset and response. Let’s honor their resilience and courage by recognizing that even in adversity, we have the power to choose our attitude. Whether it’s a firefighter battling flames, a police officer safeguarding our streets, or a veteran overcoming trauma, their strength lies in this freedom of choice. Join me in celebrating the indomitable spirit of our first responders and veterans. Share this quote and let’s spread positivity and gratitude! #FirstResponders #Veterans #ChooseYourWay #Inspiration #SecondResponder Note: Second Responder’s programs—The Alliance, The Collective, and General Fund—continue to make a difference. This week is the 8 year anniversary of one the most extraordinary races I’ve ever been a part of… running a 200 mile relay with 11 other guys in the Washington DC Ragnar event to raise funds and support for Operation Giveback. Operation Giveback is a powerful outreach to support our wounded veterans and families of fallen heroes! The photo is our team about 200 yards from the finish line (after 2 days/36 segments) joined by many others as part of the OGB Team! Our team traded off running over two days, overnight and in some very treacherous weather conditions. We believed in, supported and encouraged one another! We persevered though very challenging elevations in the mountains of Virginia and running through driving rainstorms! Some on our team were running in spite of traumatic injuries suffered while serving our country! Their courage was and still is an inspiration! The camaraderie and team support I experienced was “off-the-charts!” I am also reminded of a quote learned from Zig Ziglar many years ago: “A lot of people have gone further than they thought they could because someone else thought they could!” Never underestimate what your team can accomplish when everyone believes in and genuinely supports each other! Your words of encouragement today can make a powerful positive difference in someone else’s life! Be about providing life and energy to those around you…and help redefine the possible! #encouragement #veterans #operationgiveback #perseverance #leadership #training #teamspirit #unity #fallenheroes #positiveattitude #secondwind #finishstrong #service #redefinethepossible #belief #endurance #runyourace -Second Wind-Finish Strong, Inc.
