A recent study of 1493 tibial fractures treated between 2007 and 2020 reveals striking differences in outcomes between infrapatellar (IP) and suprapatellar (SP) nailing techniques. Out of 614 cases treated with intramedullary nailing, the SP group had a 0% rate of #fasciotomies, compared to a 13.1% rate in the IP group. The total fasciotomy rate in this period was 16.2%, emphasising the drastic reduction achieved with the SP approach.
