Having an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a way for manufacturers to take comprehensive, third-party-verified LCAs, which can be quite complex, and turn them into standardized declaration labels for their products. It can help manufacturers to stay relevant during the transition to low carbon economy enhancing transparency of product environmental impacts and providing reliable and verifiable information such as the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF). It also helps companies satisfy current regulatory requirements such as CBAM. The One Click LCA tool provides intuitive, cloud-based software to conduct LCA and enables manufacturers to generate EPDs at scale.

EFRAG released answers to the most commonly asked questions on their Q&A platform. Here are some of my favorite questions, which I frequently get asked: 1. What are concrete examples of potential entity-specific sustainability matters and any guidance related to finding and dealing with such? 2. When assessing the materiality of a sustainability matter, is the focus on stakeholder opinions or on objective evidence? 3. How is one to disclose on threshold-setting? Is it enough to just generally explain how the thresholds for the materiality assessment are set, or is it necessary to explain each threshold separately? 4. Is it an absolute requirement in paragraph 30 that 90-95% of GHG emission reduction needs to be performed before giving the option to work with GHG Removals? 5. Why are some ESRS paragraphs and Application Requirements (AR) implemented as separate data points in IG 3 List of ESRS Datapoints and some are not?
